No regrets, it has been awesome. I actually hope that we can do the same thing next year. It will be really nice since baby will be here with us. Maybe we can start to develop family traditions around the holidays with her. We have a lot to learn when it comes to that type of stuff because we have never really celebrated the holidays. We try to look at every day as a day to be happy.
With baby we will have to celebrate the holidays in a different way. For example, putting up the Christmas tree or going out trick or treating on Halloween. Right now we don't put up a tree and we have not for many years because with the 2 of us it's just not worth it. Of course we don't go trick-or-treating anymore but we do hand out candy. When it comes to baby we will have to prepare for those types of events and special days much differently so that she can experience them all.
Check Marks
We are stoked that we are finally able to put a few check marks off the list of things to do. Yesterday evening we managed to get the stroller put together and figure out how to do everything with it.
It's crazy-cool how much stuff the new strollers do. Heck all the new baby stuff for that matter. But speaking only about the stroller it does everything from folding up super easy and flat with a simple push of a button directly to popping out the newborn seat that then locks directly into the car safety seat.
They have a built in rocker in the carrier as well as compartments and hooks to either put anything and everything away or connect the car seat to everything from a shopping cart to a highchair or of course a car seat seat belt. There are shades and vents for all of the various configurations as well.
At first we were a little overwhelmed by all of the instructions and different types of connections. Everything is based on age, height, weight as well as several other variables like depending how long or chunky your baby might be. It's worthwhile though because it's for the safety of your little one.
I am confident that after a few hours of reading and configuring we have it pretty much figured out. Now the final adjustments will have to be made once baby is here so we know exactly how she needs it set. You have to adjust the five point harness, the angle (a.k.a. the recline), as well as a few other critical adjustments once baby is in it. I am very confident that we have it figured out though.
We were a little skeptical and hesitant at first to spend nearly $400 on the Britax stroller (we actually picked it up when the store was having a sale which saved a few bucks). But now that we have really dug into it we both agree that it was the best choice. Let's just hope baby feels the same!
Otherwise
I think that is about it for today. I have no idea what I am walking into at the studio today. Well I do because I keep an eye on my email, but there is a lot of other stuff going on at the moment that I unfortunately am not at liberty to rabble about yet. Namely all if the new changes and related due to the new studio split into 2 separate studios again, although with mixed developers in each.
It should be an interesting first month of the year in many ways, that's for sure. Between work stuff, me seeing one of my old doctors again that is back on my insurance, baby doctor appointments every 2 weeks now for Cicely and us starting the child birthing classes this Wednesday I think this month may be a bit of a blur, but a blast!
Have a great week!
Photo: Warm days the past 2 weeks and predicted for this week as well. On our side of the street you would never know it though, we still have 3 or 4" in some areas.
