School
So I was supposed to be starting my first class today but unfortunately it had to be cancelled due to a death in the professors family. You would think they would have had someone that could have filled in but I guess not. So that class I will have a paid credit for and will have to do my next class in a couple weeks.
Based on how busy I have been and how far behind I am getting on my project it is probably a good thing in reality. I mean I was even offered to go to a SCRUM certification class today and tomorrow that I decided to not go to for the same reasons. I just hope that I am offered it again because I would like to be certified in anything that I can. Not only is it helpful at work but looks great on a resume.
Baby Class
Last nights birthing class was great! It started off with us meeting the teacher over at Renown medical center for a tour. We were shown the various areas we will be in, where family can be as well as the private birthing rooms, surgery rooms for cesareans and recovery. We went up a floor to the nursery as well and got to see some cute little newborns.
It's really cool on the floor that you basically recover. The rooms look like little hotel rooms and are nice. We found out that they even I.D. chip the babies so an alarm goes off if they are taken from the floor. A lot of Safety and protection in place, it's awesome!
After we drove downtown to the classroom and had our usual class with video and slides. At the end of the class it was really cool because we did the normal breathing exercises but then went out to the hall for some new exercises. These were pushing exercises and positioning exercises. They helped Cicely really get an idea of what to expect and me as well. A lot of fun and as usual, time well spent.
Photo: My childhood lunchbox. I am searching for a nice one on eBay, preferably with a thermos. This one is really nice but not thermos, dang-it!
