7 Weeks To Go

Well it's time today for one of our baby doc appointments to see how Cicely and baby are doing. This is the second to last of our every two week appointments because in a few weeks we switch to an appointment every week.

Based on what I have learned in our child birthing classes this is because they start to verify how thin the uterus walls are getting to make sure that Cicely is progressing as she should for a natural birth. It should not thin up much Until the big day but should start to prepare for it. They also need to verify that baby is head-down. We are pretty sure that she is based on what Cicely is feeling but you never know until you check.

I know that she is getting more and more nervous every day just as I am but we are doing everything that we can to make it smooth and be as educated as possible ahead of time.

One of our friends / coworkers is actually scheduled to have her baby tomorrow. She is doing a C-section because that is what she has always. For her and her husband it's kind of nice to know the exact date that there baby will be born. I would be a ball of nerves in some ways if I knew the exact date and time. At least with our birth it is a bit of a surprise. There are pros and cons to both of course. Because I am such a planner the pro would be that I could have everything ready to go at a set time but the con would be that I would be thinking about the exact date and time every day, LOL.

We have another friend / coworker that will have her baby just before we do if everything goes as planned that is based on dates and guesstimates. Her baby is actually extra big according to the doctors and the ultrasounds so there is a slight chance she may have to do a C-section as well.

Then there is still yet another friend at work that is having twins and she will have to have a C-section no matter what. It's just the year of babies at our games studio I guess. The crazy part is that every single one of them are girls. I guess mother nature is telling us that there is a influx in the boy girl match-up, dunno?

Weather

Nothing really exciting happening as far as the weather goes. It's looking like the storm that the weather guessers predicted may actually happen. Today it's fairly gray and gloomy outside. Not quite cold enough for snow, but that does not mean that the temperature won't drop down a few degrees tonight to allow any moisture to freeze.

Honestly even though we have had little to no snow this year I really don't mind. The snow that we had from the last big storm is just finally melted for the most part, but in some areas it has not fully melted and it's over 2 months ago that we had the snow.

Oh well I guess it's time to just wait and see what comes tonight and tomorrow. I would prefer that it waits until Thursday so we are done with our childbirth class tomorrow and don't have to deal with any bad weather.

Late Meetings

Stayed at work in meetings later than expected last night. It's a real eye opener once you are more involved with the inner workings if the studio at a management level. The funny part is that I have only begun to get my feet wet in management and am blown away. I can't wait to see what's to come next. Plus I think about all of the stuff the directors and above have to deal with and it's a little mind blowing at times. The company gets their monies worth out of us all I guarantee you that much.

Anyway that will have to do it for today. I have enough on my plate to keep me at work until 8 or 9 tonight again but would prefer not to. Have a great day!
