Nice Long Day

So today I got up with the intention of working on my 3D printer as well as several other things. The problem with setting too many goals for yourself on a nice Sunday morning is that a couple cups of coffee and a little bit of Internet will always make a morning flyby and be much less productive.

In hindsight the day was actually really good and did not fly by as bad as I thought it would have. Granted I did not get much done, but the day itself was really relaxing and enjoyable for both Cicely and I. Not to forget the fact that she made us an amazing breakfast to start the day!

Coffee Collaboration

This evening Cicely went headed downtown to meet a few other designers that she is going to be doing a fashion show with in the coming months. The crazy part is that it is scheduled to happen right after Zoey is born so I hope she has the energy to do it and is in the correct mode mentally.

No matter her awesome designs will be in the show which is always cool. And in reality because it's about a month after the baby is born Cizzle will probably want, and need, a little time away. The big bonus to all of this is that baby and I can hang out for a few hours while mama is doing her thing.

Air

So I told myself that I would "quickly" set-up my new 11" MacBook Air that I bought last night at the Summit Apple Store. Yeah you heard right, I bought it. Between the great deal that the card company had offering and then me playing with the Air in the store it was pretty much a given that I would have pulled the trigger just like I said I would.

The laptop is awesome, and is going to really fit the need for me. I can't believe how light it is! I mean I can throw it around so to speak and it does not even feel like there is anything there which is great when it's in a backpack all day at school, at a conference or traveling.

The setup of course was not as easy as it usually is. This is probably because I wanted to do it quickly and get on to other things. I was having some weird issues with the server connection when setting up all of my iCloud stuff. Doesn't that just figure? It's usually the easiest part of the installation and setup of almost any Apple device and the one thing that is tied into everything. So yep, it just had to be the most difficult.

In reality it was not that bad I just had to go in and set it up a different way and everything worked just as I would have expected it to. Unfortunately I can be kind of stubborn sometimes when it comes to technology so I ended up fighting it for about an hour and a half trying to get it to work another way. Yeah pretty dumb actually, but it was more of the fact that I wanted to better understand why rather than just get it done. It's my nature to do so.

Once it was setup and I had installed a few of the main apps that I am used to things were working smoothly and I really love the SSD drive in the Air. Compared to the traditional platter drive in my MacBook Pro it is so much faster. I use them at work, the SSD drives that-is, and they are awesome but now here at home comparing Apples to Apples it was so much more obvious how fast they are.

Anyway

So yeah I could go on for quite a while talking about the MacBook Air but I won't. It's old news to most people even though it's the latest model.

Because of it's awesomeness I did not get anything else done today and that sucks. Well I guess that is what next weekend is for or maybe I can do some of it this week. I am probably fully myself when I say that because the week is so jam packed but you never know. Well actually I did do a huge load of dishes today and one load of laundry so I guess that is something else, LOL.

I think at this point the rest of the state of Nevada is watching the football game to find out who is going to win. I know who everyone is cheering for but I am not going to mention it simply because I don't want all the random hits on my blog. Let's just say it's a San Francisco team with numbers for the name.

People around the area are going pretty crazy over it actually which is really surprising. I think it's mostly because one of the players, but quarterback I think, went to the local college. It is all cool and everything but come on, I will just leave it at that.

I hope your Sunday was great as well as the rest of your weekend and maybe you even got some good news that your team won today. Either way I hope you did not drink too much drowning in your self pity because your team lost or in celebration because they won. After all you know what tomorrow is - the start of a shiny new work week. Well for most of us anyway. Some of you chumps get the day off for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I don't get the day off from work, LAME! I actually have to go in really early, WTF!

Oh well, that is life ya' know! Have a great week....

Photo: I did not have anything to take a photo of today so you are stuck with photo of my new toy. It's not like I needed another laptop but the way I see it is that sometimes you just have to get what you want and not always what you need - life is too short.
