Later Ladder

First things first, today is Cicely's moms birthday so I wanted to give her a shout out and tell her HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I hope it's a great one and that you were able to get / hear the message we left on voice-mail singing happy birthday!

I am sure it sounded as bad as we think it did, out of tune and us not synced up with the words - but it was fun! I hope the weather in the Dominican Republic is nice - wish we were there!

Home Depot Trip

It's the weekend and as usual that means at least one trip to a hardware or home store.

Today we were up and out of the house to do some errands and a couple purchase returns at Home Depot from our recent projects. Mostly things that we, well I, over-bought so we would not have to make a bunch of extra trips back and forth mid-projects.

Initially we were only going to return those items but after tripping over my BFL the past 3 months (Big Fuckin' Ladder) we decided that it was prime time to return it - sucks, but it had to be done. even though it's a killer Werner brand ladder it's just too big to navigate around the house and nearly impossible to find a good place to store it.

I even bought this really cool ladder storage system that you mount on the ceiling. Then when you are ready to store the ladder you put the top of the ladder into this notch, hook the lower section onto the lower steps of the ladder and almost effortlessly hoist it up via a pulley system. Finally locking it into place with a Velcro strap around the lowest step.

Sounds great right? Well it is until you consider the amount of space that it will take up on the ceiling, how low it hangs. Then there are the extra braces and crap needed to mount the thing because of course the ladder and the bracket is off just-enough so you can't hit a stud as required for mounting. So by "brackets" I am referring to screwing addition 2x4's into the ceiling studs for mounting.

Little Giant

So I still am in need of a ladder that is taller than my go-to 6 foot Werner so I am planning to get one of the Little Giant Xtreme models to take the place of the one we returned today. The Little Giants are pretty bad-ass to be honest.

They are a little pricey at just under $400 for the middle of the road version I plan to get. But considering the other ladder was around $215 and only does one thing (an A-Frame) and is super heavy and awkward the Little Giants price starts looking much more reasonable - almost inexpensive. Plus due to the fact that it's essentially 20+ ladders in one and expandable to do even more with a few inexpensive add-ons they sell you almost can't go wrong.

If ll things go as planned I should be ordering the ladder this week and I can't wait to have it and try it out. It will be really nice those times we need to get onto the roof and stuff as well. That shxt is scary with only a little 6 foot ladder.

TV

Enough about ladders for now, maybe more info on it once it shows up on my doorstep and I can start playing around with it, climbing up onto crap!

For now it's time to get comfortable on the couch and watch tonight's episode of Dexter, woot!

We have been watching that other show I mentioned a few days ago on Netflix called "Orange is the new Black" and it's turning out to be really good. Mix that in with some Battlestar and you have some killer TV past-time.

I have not been watching NASCAR or motocross races much this season. Watching that much content, sitting on the couch got to be too much for me to be honest. Maybe once the garage is complete I can start again. Especially since I have the kick-ass flat screen TV mounted on the wall above the work bench and another Apple TV out there to pull in all of my content. Once I have the speakers and receiver hooked up it will be even better because I can stream my music and crank that shxt up to 11!

There has been a bunch of news all over the web I guess about who the next Doctor is. I am doing my best to avoid finding out - gonna be tough!

Pass The Remote

With that it's Dexter time! Hope your weekend was as nice as mine or better for that matter. The workweek is here again in less than 12 hours so enjoy the weekend hours that remain, I plan to....

Photo: Twinkie's were gone, Twinkie's are back. Super stoked my kiddo will actually get to try one after-all. Granted they are bad for him/her but its an experience they will always remember.
