Today is pretty much nothing more than a day of hanging out so compared to yesterday it will seem really boring, but yesterday really kick our asses. Yep - me, Oggy and Cicely were all pretty beat after spending hours in the sun at the jet ski races but it was worth it.
Helicopter
This morning I was a good pilot and got my butt outside before 10:00 and managed to get in 8 battery packs flying the Nano. I am still mostly working on my tail-in hovers but did try about a battery and a half of nose in hovers. They are not terribly hard as long as I focus, the problem is that if the heli gets away from me ever-so-slightly then the corrections have to be much more erratic and drastic which ends up freaking me out a little bit because of the tight space I have to fly in, in the back yard.
Between the trees, the house, the neighbors and so on it really keeps me on my toes and to be perfectly honest - sucks a little bit because I cannot practice how I want. Ultimately I will need to find somewhere close by that has more room and that no-one is hanging out at. There are plenty of parks, schools and so on so I just have to find "the one" that suits flying the best.
There is nothing less fun than trying to learn something like that with an audience. Not only is it very distracting, but there is potential for someone getting hurt. The Nano is small enough that it would only scratch someone up, but I know first-hand that it does not feel too good. Once I get into the bigger ones that I want to eventually fly I will have to find a better place to go no matter what because I need the space no matter what, and people can get really injured because it's almost the equivalent of a flying lawn mower blade!
Dexter
Oh yea and how could I almost forget to mention that tonight is the season premiere of the final season of Dexter!!!! I am both stoked and saddened by this. I cant wait to see what comes of this season (his sister killing him, or? oR?? OR??? No matter it's going to be awesome I am only bummed that this will mark the end of such an awesome show.
For The Remainder
For the rest of the day it was and will be me doing some research on a paint sprayer and possibly going to get one. There is no perfect one it seems unless you want to spend $500 and up, which I don't for a single project. I finally have it narrowed down to a couple of the newer Wagner models that are in the Sub-$150 range so I now just need to watch a couple videos and decide if they will fit my projects needs. Mostly I am worried about painting the dam ceiling of the garage. This is one aspect of the project that I was not looking forward too - but it's all part of it right?
Peel It Off
Alright, it's time to yank the plug on this entry like a band-aid on an injury! I really don't have much more to rabble about and honestly, need to get on with what is left of the day so I am not further behind by the time next weekend gets here and I need to get down to the nuts and bolts of the painting project. Otherwise I will be taking a day or so spending that time doing what I should have already done this weekend. Because of the heat today, around 102 mid-day, I would much rather sit inside the house and watch Battlestar Galactica (we started the 4 season series Friday) but I cant, I need to get my butt to work - there will be time for sitting around this winter!
