ISO Audit Day

I thinks this is going to be a short post today. I realize that I say this a  the time and end up being able to rabble on for many paragraphs than anticipated.

ISO Audit

Today is the day that everyone seems to dread and can't wait until its over at work because we have an internal audit. Basically we are graded on procedures, checks and balances, and goals of the studio in general. It also keeps tabs that employees are aware if resources available to them, how to take action if something is out of the norm, offensive or just plain dangerous.

So the short of it is that no matter how much it seems to interfere with the day-to-day of each of us it is really an important thing to maintain as a company. What's-more is that it helps us to maintain our ISO certifications which are industry important as well. Tomorrow it will all be behind us for another 6 months or so and we can rest easy - well so long as we score high enough. I am sure that we will.

1:1

I have my one in one today with the director of my studio as well. These are always nice actually because not only does it give you some face time with the head of the studio, but it lets you sort of "vent" ideas, comments and suggestions that may have been on the mind. My director has a 100% open door policy just as managers do in the studio which makes the environment great. There is no reason for whispering, closed door chats and that sort of thing - I prefer it, much less energy wasted on guess work when we can all be open and forthcoming.

That Does It

That will wrap it up for today. Tomorrow is an early start so I can get in for my weekly development meeting on our new game engine. Nothing much else going on - oh I did start using Instagram a little bit, I get totally embarrassed by the stuff I post because it's just little slices out of my day - well mostly videos right now, but compared to some videos and photos on there, mine is missing a little something - I think out west we tend to call that "something" excitement ha ha. It's ok, it is actually fun to do and gets me out of my social media phobia shell.
