0.5 Way

Well it's the halfway point of the week already and so far so good.

Summer is definitely here, as I said yesterday it is getting hotter and hotter and today is no different. We are supposed to be around 97°, then by the weekend we are supposed to hit 100°. It is going to be some major AC weather from here on out I think. But as usual I still think it's way better than having to shovel snow.

Speaking of snow, usually there is a good amount of the white stuff left on Mount Rose and a few others until pretty much the following winter. This year it's melting a heck of a lot faster because already they are about 80% bare. Guess that is another reminder if the mellow winter that we had.

Lawns Looking Nice

Even though there are some spots that still need attention, mostly because of neighborhood dogs peeing on it, the lawns are looking really good this year.

Yesterday after work I was finally able to try out the new Ryobi edger that I picked up a couple weeks back and I am happy to report that it works awesome!

I was a little nervous at first because sparks were flying from the blade hitting the sidewalk edge, but according to the manual that was to be expected (yes I read manuals). I was even more surprised at how much grass was hanging over the edge. It was probably the equivalent of the amount I had just dumped from mowing the entire front yard.

All-in-all I am really happy with it and the purchase of it. I have only ever used my weed whacker in the past and you simply cannot get as nice of an edge with them. Because it was only a test last night I only did 2 of the 5 or so areas so next time I will manicure them all.

Ball Game

I saw on Facebook that there were these cool baseballs given out yesterday at our studio day at the ballpark. Because we did not attend we did not get one which kinda sucks. I am going to try today and get one - namely because Cicely's dad is a big baseball fan and I would like to give it to him - I think he would get a kick out of it and really appreciate it.

If I don't hear back from those with "the power" to get me one then I will simply have to chalk it up as a "missed opportunity" on my part. Anymore some of the dynamics have changed with this sort of thing I am sad to say. In the past everyone would have been included - whether attending or not. I guess "big picture" it's a trade-off really and does not matter. I managed to get a good deal of development done staying at work.

Empty

That will do it for today. We head over to moms house tonight to check on her well being, take or make her some food and visit with her for a little while. I think that it helps to break up her days and weeks a little bit if nothing else. Plus we like to make sure she is doing ok overall. My sister, Kelly, usually goes a few times a week and helps her fill up on groceries so us stopping by takes some pressure off her as well hopefully.

Anyway, not much else for the middle of the week. I hope to have a bunch of sweet hop-ups and bling coming in the mail for my Spektrum transmitter and some extras for my helicopters. Gives me something to look forward to during an otherwise normal workweek.
