Just Kickin'

Sunday is already upon us and the awesomely relaxing and fun Saturday is now just a memory. Yea I realize I did not run a marathon or do some other crazy stuff but for me it was a really nice day. I did whatever I wanted to, the weather held out and my lumbar was playing nice the entire day. I am trying to keep a pulse on the smaller victories as of late, and enjoy them just as much - it's important.

SUP Foo'?

Ok so I will be the first to admit that the hobby, which is actually more of a sport than I realized (because they have crazy races in rough water and shxt) called SUP or Stand Up Paddle-boarding  always looked really friggin' stupid to me. Yea I know, to each their own and all of that but it just seemed like a huge investment of money to stand on a board and paddle around a lake. In my eyes the input did not match the output what-so-ever. Sure, related to most hobbies it's not that crazy of an upfront investment I suppose - probably in the neighborhood of $1600 to $2500 per person if I had to guess. Compared to most other water sports it's relatively inexpensive.

Zip-zoom, bob-and-weave to yesterday afternoon. While I was looking at some friends photos on Facebook I noticed that her and her husband went up to Lake Tahoe and did a little SUP'ing and both the area they were at and the equipment they had looked fairly interesting and like something Cizzle and I should try.

Her husband even had his board fitted with a sweet GoPro cam. Honestly as cool as that is to me I am not sure how exciting the footage would be to watch. Maybe it's just relaxing to re-live and heck i will be the first to say that the editing process can at times be 80% of the enjoyment so again, to each their own.

I am thinking that Cicely and I need to take a day off and go up to Lake Tahoe and try it out this summer. If for nothing else to get away and spend what would otherwise be a workday at the lake with each other. Who knows, we may just stumble upon something that we enjoy doing during the warm summer months together while working on our tan!

So there you have it, mark it on your calendar that I had a little crow for breakfast - I am ok with that. I have no problem admitting when I am wrong, especially if there is a slight chance I may be able to try-out said "thing" I was wrong about. Win-win in my book!

Today

It's time to jump back into my Sunday and enjoy it while it lasts. I was up early, around 6:45 AM and Cicely slept in until almost noon. I can't blame her, she was a very busy bee yesterday from 7:00 AM until past midnight.

Today will be fill with preparations for the workweek ahead, grocery shopping, cutting my hair and those types of things. Although the plan is to also find a little time to make some noise with my bass as well as stir up some turbulence a with my helicopter because before we know it we will be smack dab in the workweek.

Photo: I have this appreciation for "display art", namely the fake foods that they are made up of. This BBQ display is another fine example that I came across.
