I should mention that it's really friggin' cold out again as well. I think this is one of the first times I have had to run the heater in the mornings in late June. What the heck Mother Nature?
Yard Work
Managed to get the yard done last night, front and back as well as some edging in the back only this time. Felt good as I thought it might. Something about doing work like that when it requires little to no thought and you are sort of on auto pilot it can be relaxing and enjoyable, and it actually was (plus I enjoyed a cold adult beverage while doing so).
Garage Project
After finishing up the lawns, power blowing all of the clippings and cleaning up the tools I was in the mood to do a little more work before dinner. So I tore into 1 of the 4 cabinet boxes that I need to build before I hang them up in the garage, hopefully this weekend if all goes as planned.
The cabinets were even harder than the big cabinet was to build. Mostly because of all the various pieces, different types of screws, bolts, washers and nuts required for each particular piece. Don't get me wrong, it's not rocket science just really time consuming - but enjoyable none-the-less.
Only real downside is that once it's all together and before you attach the doors you have to square it all up and tighten everything wrench tight vs. finger tight while building. Well there is a ton if sharp edges on the exposed sheet metal and I slipped and managed to slice the top of my "hey F-You buddy" finger pretty deep. No stitches required though, just some hydrogen peroxide, ointment and a band-aid from nurse Cicely.
Lock It Up
That does it for today. Nearly time for my next meeting and I need to get some things done beforehand. Tonight after my eye appointment we go over to moms for the weekly check-in and make sure she is eating, feeding her fuzzy kid and otherwise safe.
I will be honest, I can't wait for this week to be over. It has been a little too go-go-go for my liking. I feel like I have missed a lot of it.
