Fathers Day

Yep, its that time of the year again when we all need to pick up the phone, get in the car or head out for a brunch or BBQ and wish our pops a happy Father's Day! Possibly do something together that you always enjoyed through the years or chat about the things you used to do over a couple beers. No matter what is in the cards for you I hope its a great day for you and yours!

Dinner

Last night we went to the Nugget steak house and had this massive table in the VIP room to hang out with both friends and family for my dads Father's Day & birthday celebration. It was not only a great night but we also had a plethora of great food, drinks, dinner wines as well as amazing dessert wines to go along with our meals.

I had assumed that dinner would only last for a couple hours since we started at 5:30, but as luck would have it we pretty much closed the place when we left at 11:00. It must be a thing with my family because when Cicely and I go out we tend to do the exact same thing and are the last ones standing when the place is ready to hit the lights for the night.

I hope pops had as good of a time as we did and had a great Father's Day / birthday dinner combo celebration! The only scary part is that we managed to plan a future night out with all of us guys with guys and girls with girls and a limo driver to take us and pick us up from wherever we end up or want to end up that night. I am not sure how that is going to workout, sounds painful to be honey, guess I will just have to really watch my intake and slow my roll.

Lunch

After talking to dad for over an hour we decided to meet up at a local bar / Greek restaurant that him and my step mom go to all the time and have some lunch. We just have to be sure we really watch what we order so we maintain our diet and do not mess up all the work we have put into it the past 30 days. Should be pretty easy, we did just fine last night which would have been the easiest to cheat and mess-up.

Light Gunsmith Project

I have been pondering the ideas if picking up a 10/22 with an 18" barrel and using it to make my own custom .22 Bullpup fun rifle. Well as luck would have it when we went to get my dads gifts I decided to see if they happened to have anything in stock that I could use and sure enough they did - but me being there looking for other stuff did not think to pick one up, well the ONLY one they had.

That brings us to today, I plan to swing by after we have lunch and see if they still have one on hand and if so go ahead and pick it up and get moving on the project. The kit is back ordered 14 weeks so it's not a big rush if they don't have it today still, I will continue looking - maybe even for a used one at a gun show. But at $249 new it's hard to pass one up. Guess we will see if its my lucky day or if I should have pulled the trigger on Friday when I had the chance.

**Update: So after lunch we swung past Scheels to see if they still had the 10/22 rifle on-hand so I could bite the bullet and pick one up finally. Well as luck would have it the rifle sold - dammit! I guess I have not learned my lesson to just buy that stuff when it's available and not wait until you have thought it over. Oh well I will have to keep checking and next time just go for it at that time.

While there I checked out their safes as well and the actually had some pretty good prices on them. Even though the salesman was not the most personable guy and prolly thought that I could not afford anything they had to offer. Too bad for him, I have the cash budgeted out for it. Really I don't care, I am not there to make friends I just want a nice safe. I plan to research the brand now and go from there to make a decision although it would be sweet to save $1,300 or so.

Reload

Ok time to do some of this, a little bit of that and make it a nice Sunday while trying to get some shxt done as well. It's going to be a super busy week once again so I am really looking forward to the coming weekend because it will all be behind me for the most part.

Photo: My cool ass old school RC dirt bike I pulled out to show a friend the other day when the subject came up. His comment "what don't you have or haven't you tried man?" ha ha that is a tough one to be perfectly honest.
