Working, Raining, Cycling

So for the most part it rained from probably midnight last night all the way until earlier this morning. There was no real mention of moisture from the weather guessers other than what we had yesterday. This would prove to put a bit of a damper on my cycling for this morning because I needed to get up early and go for a nice ride, at least somewhere in the range of 40 to 60 miles to keep up with my goal for the month.

What I am planning to do instead, is it on the trainer for as long as I can and put in some miles that way. I have a new saddle and I am going to try that I ordered on Thursday and we will see how that feels. It's never fun trying out a new saddle because you never know exactly how good or bad it's going to work or feel.

This becomes even more critical when you are in a situation that you want to get a long ride in and if you have a uncomfortable Satel you are pretty much screwing yourself from the beginning because your sit bones will get tired and fatigued way before the rest of your body does.

According to the weather guessers for the remainder of the day it's only supposed to be about a 10% chance of rain although I have a feeling it will be light showers on and off all day. I considered also going and taking the mountain bike out the only problem is the one area I would go to may be extremely muddy. I have never been there except for on days that it's sunny and warm so I have no idea how quickly it dries after a good rain like we have had.

I guess in the end we will see what I can get accomplished and go from there. What I may have to do is this take a ride on the trainer and then a break for a little while and then another ride to keep up with the miles that I want to get done.

It's much more difficult hopping on the trainer for multiple hours both mentally and physically compared to going for a ride outside because when I am outside at least I can take a break now and then from pedaling if it's a downhill.

The Girls

Cicely and Zoe had plans to meet their friend cat at the place that they went to check out last week. I guess Cicely is going to help Cat with some of the clothing that she was going to work on this weekend. I hope she is able to do as much stuff as she wants to having Zoey there. It's not really a place for a toddler to hang out so I hope Zoey does not go stir crazy and in turn drive Cicely crazy to the point that she is unable to focus on what she wants to be doing.

Last weekend when they went it seemed to work out just fine although I don't think they were working on any projects in particular. I think it was more about checking out the space available, the type of people there, and what all they were and were not allowed to work on.

I guess I will hear more today when she gets back and have a better idea for future trips down there if she will be able to take Zoey or not. I know they want to get a space to share and be able to work on their projects.

I totally understand her reasoning behind the desire for a space, my problem with that is the extra money she might be spending on a space, say $500 up to $1500 a month could easily go into an investment for us.

Something along the lines of a bigger house that had a spare garage and then get it plumbed for a sink basin, a house with a spare room for it again, potentially being able to add another basin or honestly even another nice big shed out back that they could work out of. It would not be difficult or that expensive to run power to it as well as A/C or a swamp cooler, heat, lighting and proper ventilation. The basin may be more difficult in that scenario yet do able.

Plus this way the money is coming back to us and it's not some ongoing thing she would need to pay, sign a lease for, insure and all of the other things involved.

Work Stuff

Because the past weeks have been so crazy and we have had things from time off to holidays to studio event it is been really difficult to try and get my midyear reviews done for my team. Because of this I was able to finally start them yesterday and not get very much done. I only have something like four days left to finish them completely that meant I had to bring them home this weekend and work on them.

So long as I can get them all done, next week I should easily be able to get through everyone the four days that I have available and then move on from there and not have to think about them again until the end of the year thank goodness!

They are very important to me and I would assume important to those that are receiving them. It's just a very long, tedious, impersonal process that I don't like 100% therefore I tend to put it off at times in hopes of thinking a better way to handle it. Unfortunately, even if I did, this is the procedure put in place for the reviews by the company.

Little Animals

We were planning to go out today to this farm is close by because they are doing a event for little kids, well bigger kids as well I imagine. Essentially they have a farm where you can go and see different types of animals as well as pet them and ride ponies.

It is the same place that does the pumpkin patch every year along with the corn maze and that type of thing. For this event they are only charging something like six dollars a person to get in so that is not terrible to be able to take Zoe to see that the stuff so close to home.

With the weather being as shitty as it is I am not sure if we will be able to take her or not. Cicely is going to decide while she is out if the weather is acceptable enough or not and then we will play it by ear from there. Today's the only day for it besides yesterday so I am hoping that we won't miss it and will be able to go check it out and have Zoey experience it.

More on that later or tomorrow if we do go as I am sure I will have some things to rebel about when it comes to her getting to see farm animals for the first time. If nothing else it should be a lot of fun and make us laugh I just hope it does not scare the crap out of her. I don't think it will, she's pretty darn brave and very intelligent so she will figure out what's going on. Especially if she sees other kids doing it I think she will feel safe and then want to participate even more.

Outta Here

With that I'm going to go ahead and get my butt in gear and dive back into my day. I had a few minutes to relax when I was looking up a few things and so I thought I would Jott my thoughts about the day down in here. If anything else comes up good or bad as usual I will be sure to edit and add it to this post otherwise happy Saturday and I hope it roll safely into your Sunday.
