Training And A BBQ

Another early morning again today. It's now my turn to be in class for a day. Cicely has been in classes and collaboration sessions for the past two days, it concluded yesterday afternoon and things are back to normal for her day-to-day otherwise.

For me it's off to a morning training class to get me up to speed on any of the changes that have happened over the past year with FMLA and related benefits as well as what I have to do as a manager to set those benefits into motion when an employee needs to use them. Should be a good class and thankfully it's not very long. I have a ton of stuff to get done this week still!

Daycare

Today at school for Zoey it's 'favorite color day'. Because we do not really know what her favorite color is our idea was to use mine which is orange and Cicely's which is pink and try to mix and match them a little. Unfortunately Zoey does not have much orange for some reason so Cicely ended up dressing her in this peachy, pinkish orange looking outfit and matching hat. She looked very cute, had on a great color and it was fun.

Barbecue Lunch

Once out of class today I was able to get back to the studio in time to make my pre-lunch development meeting for one of my developers games, then have a quick one on one with another and finally get down to the BBQ area to have a burger, salad and a small brownie for desert.

I think most are in a food coma at the moment as the studio is a little quiet! That is okay though, it was a really good time having the BBQ, I managed to win a Best Buy gift card and then pick the winner of the next prize which was really cool as well.

All-in-all it has been a good day and the class this morning was well worth my time to attend. I learned several new things about FMLA and ADA in particular as well as now have even more resources to go to should I have additional questions down the road.

Back To It

For now I am wrapping up this post and I am going to dive into a little more work before heading down to the gym. I think what I am going to do is try and bust out at least one of the reviews so I can get an idea of what it will take and gauge how much time I will need to set aside for writing them.

Then between today and next Tuesday I will jump into the one on one sessions and get those out of the way for the year. Next up will of course be the end of the year reviews which will require much more attention and time to do the way that I like to. Other than that, it's back to it for me!
