Four Twenty

Well as you know from the title of this post today is four twenty or 4/20 or 420 depending on your reference or circle you happen to be in at that time. It's kinda crazy how it has become the identifier for smoking pot more than anything. Even more-so, how mainstream it has become. The 420, not smoking pot.

What's Today Really

Today has a bigger significance than most realize. It does not solely have to do with reggae music, smoking weed or those kinds of things. It actually signifies something much more mainstream and actually a bit depressing - taxes!

Sure I know, tax day is 4/15 so what the hell am I talking about? Many of you probably know, others, possibly the majority, especially if you are a pot smoker (joking) have no clue as to what today represents.

Today is known as the happy day because it's the day of the year that everyone is actually making money. In other words, if you look at the year as purely profit and taxes, by the time you have made it to April 20th you have officially been working for the government the entire year as far as your money is concerned. Once you pass the 20th then you are giving them less, taking home more and in turn increasing your wealth.

It's a little difficult to understand I realize, because you do make money and have money up to this point, it's just another way to look at it. Kinda sucky too when you break it down that way and think about it!

That's All

Not much else today that I have time to rabble about. I do have a few other things on the list to jot down but they can wait for another day. Right now I need to take this short period of time that I have between meetings and get to the gym. My week is really full again this week and I don't know how much time I will have to get down there other days and it pains me to say that!

Photo: This is a little, odd feeling chick that lights up. Zoey got it for Easter and immediately Oggy was very interested in it. We tried to keep it away, knowing that he would try to disassemble it. He eventually got it, flattened it and now we may have to retire it. Poor little chick!
