Merger & Bowling

Well of course it's snowing outside and we are in the beginnings of what is supposed to be spring! It's the norm around here to be honest and as I have mentioned many times before I bet. I watched several of my neighbors pack up and head out to what appeared to be camping trips or travel of various types over the past week. Some have already returned early, others have not shown back up at home so I would imagine, and hope for the sanity and enjoyability of their time away, that they are somewhere that is much nicer at the moment.

Although I suppose that 'nice' is relative depending on what you like to do in your free time. If you were an avid skier or snowboarder then you would be happy with the storm that is coming over the hills, expected to dump just over a foot of new snow in the mountains. Down here in the valley I would think that we will receive little more than the flurries that are blowing around now.

While I am ready for spring and summer to be here, start soaking up vitamin D and work on my crazy summer cycling tan lines I am thankful that we are getting precipitation. The big lake, Lake Tahoe, is in dire need of water this season. The snow-pack has been nonexistent for the most part and the lake is not looking very good at all.

California is in need of water as well and have finally introduced steps to cut back water and have put watering restrictions on residence. I think they did it a little too late, not my problem I guess. We have already been asked to cut back by 10% in this area which I think is really smart to get ahead of it. Of course we will end up having all of the damn Californians moving here to escape the water and other issues they have in their state. Something I do not want!

Anyway, with that I have to get going - I wanted to type up a little before heading off to bowling today in case there is not time to do much of anything later this afternoon. I want to start working on Zoey's blog as well, here on Blogger, as I have finally decided on a template that I like and Cicely is in agreement with me that its a good choice and will suit her well for many years to come. Worst case, we can always change it of course.

Cycling

I am happy to report that bowling was a lot of fun and we were done by 3:00 so we were let out to go home for the afternoon. I took the opportunity to come home and get on the trainer for almost an hour and a half, for a total of 21 miles and some change. It was nice to be able to do that, wish that I could every day after work like that!

Photo: Okay, I realize that this has nothing to do with today's entry, when I came across it on a site that had things that would bring back childhood memories, lemme just say that this in fact did, 100%!

I cannot stand anything wood that is supposed to go into your mouth other than toothpicks and chopsticks, both of which took me many years to work up to using.

When it comes to Popsicle sticks, tongue depressors and these spoons I go nuts and my skin gets all goose bumped! Argh, whomever though this was a good idea I would like to chat with!
