Today started out as one of those days that I could have easily stayed in bed the entire day and not even thought twice about it. From what Cicely was telling me, she was, and still is in the same boat as I am, although entirely my fault that she is.
4:00 AM
I woke up at just after four in the morning with a splitting headache and roasting hot, the heat was on but it was only 69 degrees in the house so it was doing nothing more than maintaining that temperature until morning when it would kick into its normal schedule.
Anyway, I got up and had a big glass of apple juice and took a couple Advil in hopes that it would resolve my headache and I could go back to bed in a few minutes. Unfortunately this was not the case. I did go back to bed but was up withing ten or fifteen minutes because the moment I had laid down I began getting hotter, sweating with a pounding head.
I was up again and checked my temperature. The first time that I was up it was sitting at 94.6 degrees, this time when I checked it I had already dropped down to 92.4 degrees and was not feeling very well at all. This meant that I would have to force myself, with the help of Cicely, to get back into bed and get as warm as possible even though my body was sweating, hurting and shaking.
Cicely and I walked back into our room and I tucked in tight, Oggy was trying to lick my back, he knew that something was going on, he could sense it or just knew so it was his way to cool me down or help me out - what a good boy!
After checking that the heat was still turned down and that the fan was on, Cicely opened the window a bit to let a cold breezed blow in and we all snugged into bed, close and tight. It was not fun for me and a total mental battle feeling as though my body was shutting off or wanting me to puke, something you do not ever want to do in this state of health. I have had it happen once, and while I felt pretty good after, it was painful to say the least.
Finally Asleep
I finally fell asleep and slept for another two hours. I had turned off the alarm so I would not be aggravated by the stupid thing every 5 minutes when the snooze was done. When I woke, I still felt shaky and out of energy but overall, one hundred times better and improved thanks to Cicely once again helping me, okay forcing me back into bed, it's the last thing you want to do when hot and sweaty, shaky and have a pounding head but I did.
Up And At It
Once up it was time to wake Zoey up, have coffee and Cicely make me a nice breakfast while making something for herself and Zoey. I was slowly but surely feeling better and by the time I was out of the shower I felt about 90%. I have been really exhausted the entire day because of it, overall not too bad though and able to get things done.

I have been really exhausted the entire day because of it, overall not too bad though and able to get things done.
This has happened to me a few times before in the past and I am not sure why it happens. Most times its related to food issues, meaning I ate something that was undercooked, bad or otherwise should not have been ingested with my sensitive stomach. No idea what I could have eaten this time although I have an idea that it was the place we went for lunch if in fact the cause. I never feel that great after eating there but Cicely really wanted it for lunch yesterday so I was fine with that, not her fault.
Looking Forward
Tomorrow is a new day as is tonight a new evening. My hope is that it will be a much better one than last night. Not that the night itself was 'that bad', it was great actually. I had a nice dinner, played with Zoey, cycled 21+ miles and took Oggy for a nice walk.
What more could I want out of an evening? Hopefully tonight will be more of the same although I don't know where my energy level will be on the bike, I guess I will find out huh. Either way, miles are miles after all and any day that I can get on there and do them the better and closer I will be to reaching my goal of 1250km for the month! Until next time, enjoy the time in front of you!
Photo: This was what little Zoey had for breakfast today. I opted out and had an egg and bacon inside a tortilla instead. I'm not much of a pancake fan.
