Dumb Ass Teens

So last night Cicely drove down to get us dinner, it was Friday night after all and she did not want to cook and I felt like something that was not good for me, or at least something I felt like I was getting a treat by eating.

While she was gone I was taking care of some things that I needed to get done online, one being to email the shop that I bought my vault from to let them know there is some odd issue going on with an area of the paint. It does not look bad, most would not notice it to be honest, but there is some rust showing through the areas so I wanted to get their opinion on it. It was over $4,500 if I remember correct, maybe it was closer to $5,500? Either way, it's a top-of-the-line personal vault and for that price and from this particular manufacturer it should easily outlast me!

Anyway all of a sudden I hear this big ass crash and sound outside as though the kids next door had friends over and they were fighting or someone threw something against a fence. Heck I dunno, it was just loud, more like a car crashed through the back privacy fence.

I looked outside and could not see anything, before that I heard cussing and stuff, again not thinking a lot about it because of the way sounds travel and echo around this area. Looking out back I did not see anything wrong or messed up but planned to check as soon as the sprinklers turned off.

Sprinklers Are Now Off

So the sprinklers shut off, I grabbed my high power flashlight and headed out to investigate more. Shining the light around I noticed something odd by one of the bushes, looked like the chicken wire I have along the fence was ha honing weird so I walked over to check it out.

As I approached a car drove by on the street behind our house, illuminating the road and now the big hole in the fence, stupid fucking teenagers! Usually they wait until the first week of summer to get all of the stupid shxt out of their systems, guess not this year huh?

Quick Fix

Cicely was back by now and I grabbed stuff to repair the fence the best that we could in the dark with the broken pieces. It's not perfect but good enough for the night. Today I plan to go for a bike ride and when I get back I will go to Home Depot, buy new planks to put up and fix it properly and with acres instead of nails. Not that it would have helped this time but screws are generally the better way to go while at it.

So that was my evening, not really happy about it obviously although I am very thankful that we were home, well that I was home, and Oggy did not get out of the yard. There is enough traffic back there that he would have easily gotten hit by a car or lost. I would have been devastated if that happened or ever does!

I think I am going to see about getting a secondary fence put up for just that reason. The last thing I want is for him to get out and get hit by a car, picked up by someone or eaten by a coyote!

Thankfully none of the above was an issue and everything is fine today other than a little extra work on my plate to get the stuff to fix the fence and then to get the repairs done - no biggie.

Cycling

Went for a really nice cycling adventure today as planned as well. The weather was awesome, sitting at a nice mid 70's up to near 80 degrees Fahrenheit at times. Probably, no, definitely the best day this year as far as weather goes. Soon it will be so dam hot that time of day it will be painful to cycle. I know because it seemed to be the time that I managed to go nearly every single time last year.

Today I was gone a lot longer than I intended to be, though that happens more times than not to be honest. I get out there and get into the groove and its really hard to turn around and come back home. If it were not for Cicely, Zoey and Oggy here waiting for me I would probably stay gone from dusk until dawn more times than not. I have said this more than once, I never thought that I would have such a good time cycling as I do.

The investment is pretty big considering, unless you go cheap, then it's not so bad, although you get what you pay for when it comes to bikes just like anything. With the new bike, everything is electronic which is great. I don't have to worry about fucking cables stretching or not being lubed and so on, so much easier!

Nothing against my other road bike, it served a great purpose and is the reason I am cycling as much as I am now. Plus, it's still holding strong and getting used often on the KICKR trainer during the week or on shxtty weather days. I have been neglecting my mountain bike though, I need to get out there with it and play in the dirt while putting a few miles on it.

The hard part this month is that I am trying to get at least 1250 kilometers so every ride is an important one and I need to do my best to make sure that I get as close to, or more than twenty miles otherwise I won't be able to accomplish my goal. If I take the mountain bike out I would probably have to do a couple laps to make it add up to enough miles for the spin. No biggie, but takes a lot more time to do so and kicks my ass big time! That's a good thing though, right!

As far as the new bikes maintenance, I do have to remember to plug the thing in, although if I do forget I am usually okay, a charge will go for something like 15 hours, rarely are my rides more than five or six hours so I could easily get two days out of a charge if necessary.

All-in-all a really nice ride and a great way to spend the first part of my Saturday. Now I have the second half with my family and of course Home Depot to get fence repair parts. Not sure if I will actually get that done today or not, it's getting late, I will at least get the materials then I can take care of it tomorrow after I get back from my ride.

Photo: This is the beanie hat that was left behind after the dumb ass teenagers decided that behind our house was a good place to stop and fuck with each other, fight, break my fence and leave. Assholes, I hope you can't afford another stupid ass beanie!
