This week, as mentioned, is "wacky week" at school for Zoey. Monday was backwards day, yesterday was crazy hair day and today is mismatched day. I never knew how much fun all of this could be! The only downside is that I have to wonder what other parents and people think when they see Zoey and have no clue why she is dressed so odd or why we did nothing with her hair that day.
It's okay, it's all in good fun and they are kids after all that honestly have no idea at her age what we are doing. All that she knows is that it's another day of getting dressed and going to school to see her friends, play and have a good time.
This is exactly the way that it should be too! It's unfortunate that we lose this as we get older. The 'system' essentially teaches it out of us, in an attempt to make everyone the same. A least most hold onto the fun side of things and maintain a happy medium between being an adult and a kid at heart.
Others simply never grow up and that is the extreme opposite. They are the ones that rebell and go down a completely different path only to end up close to or completely 'down and out' all through life. More times than not blaming society for their own shortcomings.
Takes all types of course to make the world go around. Well not really, the world continues on either way and we are simply along for the ride. For now it's time for us to make Zoey wacky and to have fun, be able to laugh at herself as well as at and with others, never taking it all too seriously, instead responsibly.
Today it's mismatched outfits and tomorrow will be something new and fun for her. This is how I would like it to always be for her. For now, while its still in our control we will make sure she has nothing but fun and opportunity to participate in all the things she wants to!
Have a fun filled wacky day!
Photo: Rather than post the photo of Zoey that I have already posted on other social media sites and saved to my personal album, I have decided to only post her mismatched shoes. Not only do they not match, one is a slip on, one needs to be tied. One has normal basketball tread and the other one has more of a slipper tread with a built in squeaker - so every time she walks she squeaks - awesome!
