Today is a busy day at work, filled up with tons of meetings along with lunch meetings to go over standards we are trying to get worked into the product line. Most importantly these standards are to build a more consistent and familiar brand, not paint anyone into a corner as they may assume.
Over the years we have gotten away from that a little over the past several years. Not necessarily intentionally, it's one of those things that happen as a product lines hardware, software and the game engine itself. We have also had a bit of turnover which means training needs, new ideas from places most veterans of our business have already been, at least once, usually more.
Anyway, the morning is super busy and into the early afternoon as well. After lunch the day is a bit of an open book which is even worse in many ways. This leaves me open to random schedule changes, pop up meetings and related.
I would really like to get my ass down to the gym today and get on the elliptical for a solid half hour to fourth five minutes to work additional muscle groups that are not getting used on the bike. I like to work more on my core when in the gym also. I have a tough time getting motivated to do that at home for some reason. Lame excuse really although honest to the core, no pun intended.
Anyway back to the point - work is crazy and it's going to be just as much of a Monday as I would expect. Normally I don't fall into the Monday sadness or Friday happiness that most fall into. Today the shoe fits so it's on! Not sure how the rest of the week looks, I try to not look too far ahead unless necessary otherwise it's easy to lose the focus of the day in front of me.
As I always say yet often forget myself is that today is now, once it's gone that's it, no going back for a do over, only to use tomorrow for those things you wanted to focus on today. Hope that makes sense, lotta words!

Dinner With The In-Laws
Once this busy-ass-day is over and out of the way we are going downtown to meet Cicely's dad and step-mom for dinner. They were not able to take her out for her birthday and even though she protested the invite as 'not necessary but appreciated' they insisted on it.
So we will be heading down to Harrah's casino to go to the steakhouse and have a nice dinner with them. I don't think I have been to the steakhouse there, in all honesty you I can't remember the last time that I was there for anything.
It should be a lot of fun as always although I have a sneaky suspicion that the reason behind this is so they can spend some time with Zoey rather than see my mug and celebrate Cicely's birthday, lol! I'm totally just kidding but I am sure that there is some truth to that and I cannot blame them.
Dive-In, The Waters Shark Infested
Okay it's time to wrap up this injury for today. Rather than diving into the pool because the water is fine I'm actually diving into the pool of sharks today. As mentioned at the beginning of the post it's going to be a very busy day and it will probably fly by which is going to make it even more difficult.
It's part of the job and actually a lot of fun, although stressful at times, though always very rewarding. With that; have nothing less than a great day no matter what day it is for you. If it's today or 20 years from now, it's your today, enjoy it for that, don't think about yesterday or tomorrow.
Photo: Oggy close-up for today's photo. He's such a good boy and we are so lucky to have him in our lives. He gets a little less attention since Zoey showed up, I hope that he knows how much we do and always will love him - he is our first kiddo and taught us tons!
I think he is already teaching Zoey a thing or two as well. Oggy does not like his photo taken anymore, similar to Zoey, she is getting to the point that she won't look when there is a phone aiming at her and if she has the opportunity she will hurry up and turn her back to you to avoid the camera.
