Projectile Vomiting

Well from what the weather guessers said on the radio this morning we are in for at least one more day of rain. It rained all day yesterday and only stopped for a short time off and on throughout the day. Last night was more of the same with some heavy downpours at times. This morning it's coming down slightly harder than a constant sprinkle, enough to make my clothes nice and wet simply walking from the car to the studio.

Riding Weather

On the bright side, when I go for a ride this weekend the dust should be a little more under control and there should be really good traction. I don't know if the water tends to hang around the single track areas or not so I will have to watch out for muddy spots as well.

I would like to go further this weekend and even if I have to do some walking and hiking I would like to get up to the top of that area I was at last weekend and take the crazy ride back down.

I may go ride this other area as well on Sunday morning. It is supposed to be a really good ride, just a little challenging but mostly mellow and scenic. Last weekend was neither mellow or scenic. Well the scenery was nice, but I was too busy trying to not cough up a lung!

3D Printer

As mentioned yesterday, the 3D printer that I have been waiting over a half a year to be released is finally going on pre-order status, I am frigging stoked to say the least. I think that it's going to be awesome to have and allowing Cicely to make prints as well as be able to quickly prototype things will be awesome.

It should be here around the end if June, possibly the first part of July. I ended up ordering the super combo kit because it not only comes with 5 spools of materials but it also comes with software and ... Wait for it ... A friggin' 3D scanner! It's the "Sense" scanner I was going to get last year and never pulled the trigger on. I am glad that I didn't because this package deal was a much better choice.

All in all this will be nice because we can scan things and print them vs. Simply trying to model and design them in a 3D application. Brings the learning curve way down and allows us to enjoy the printer rather than bang our heads learning all of the I'm not sure and outs of 3D modeling applications and related. We will still have to clean the models up but that is much easier than starting from a primitive shape and molding something.

Kiddo

Poor kiddo had to go home from daycare today. She projectile vomited around noon and because of that they cannot keep her there. If she is just doing a little spit up and related it is OK, most babies will do that after eating and so on. Unfortunately that is not the case with the vomiting. I hope she is doing OK and did not catch a bug from daycare but rather just has a tickle in her tummy that needed to come up and out.

This is one thing we will have to get accustomed to with having a child, we are not use to this type of thing making us miss work because we are rarely if ever sick ourselves. I just hope it is the new formula I talked Cicely into trying and not a bug. Feel better my sweet little girl!

Photo: What it looks like out pretty much any window yesterday and today. The rain is great for sleeping and weekends inside the house but with the 3 day weekend coming up, we all want it to go away and come back another day.
