Mothers Day

First things first, Happy Mothers Day to all of the moms, grandma's, step-moms and heck even the dads that have had to take the place of mom for one reason or another!

I will say first hand even though it has only been 8 weeks since Zoey came into our lives that Cicely has turned into a super mom in no time flat. It's amazing how quickly she was able to go from never having much interest in being a mom to being a super mom over night. She is so good with Zoey and the are already the best of buds.

Yesterday they both went to the gem and mineral show together to look for crystals that Cicely needs for a really cool idea that she has for her next creation. I cant wait to see what she comes up with, its always really exciting to watch her works-in-progress as they develop into something she can sell. Along the way she improves, tweaks and adjusts accordingly.

Anyway, they were at the show for a good 3 hours and Zoey did great. She got a little fussy at one point but I guess she was just getting a little hot in the carrier wrap that Cicely wears around her waist and chest, and over and around her shoulders. I cant remember what they are called, but it's basically this elastic wrap thing you have to tie a particular way. It then holds the baby in, and in various positions. Really cool actually! I am going to get a similar one, think the one that I am getting is called, or made by, Baby Bjorn's - they are actually a little more "manly" so I don't mind wearing one where-as the wrap thing you would NEVER catch me in - ha ha.

Carson

So we are going to head down to Carson City for a little while today and visit mom - it's mothers day after all and I would like to see her. I know the drive will be 2 to 3 times as long as the visit but I have not seen her in almost 2 months and I miss her a lot. I really wish that she was not in that place, rather back at home in her condo. I hate the fact she will never really know her grand daughter and Zoey will never really get to know her. They would be the best of buds I just know it. Mom would have a blast with her and Zoey with her as well. I cant dwell on the past and things that are out of my control but times like this it strikes a nerve more-so is all.

Unfortunately today I have to go into the nursing home by myself because Zoey is not allowed to go in there yet. She does not get her first set of shots until tomorrow (we are scared about that for her). After that I don't know if she will be OK or not to go in there or if we have to wait another 3 months for her first set of boosters. Cicely is going to ask at the pediatricians visit tomorrow so we know for sure what is the best plan of action.

Alright

That will be the end of this one peeps. I need to get my ass moving and out of the house. The drive to Carson is just over an hour one way so there goes the majority of the day. I would really like to try and take the bike out somewhere and go for a ride as well today although from the looks of our schedule I will have to go later in the afternoon or evening - I hope it's not friggin' windy!

To all the moms out there, thanks for all that you do - I cant speak for all the dads out there but speaking for myself I could not do it all without the help of my awesome wife and mother of my kiddo! Love you Cicely and thank you for everything you do for our family!
