Easier Week

It's a fresh new week and one that is leading up to a welcomed 3 day weekend to reward me at the end of it all. Last week was pretty rough and because of that I am trying my best to make this week less painful.

I have a doctors follow-up appointment on Friday but those are usually less than 15 minutes long and because it's only right down the road from home it's not a situation of "rush rush rush" either. After it will be off to work for a few hours before my studio takes the second half of the workday off to go to the IMAX theater in Sparks to watch the new Godzilla movie.

I was originally going to have a class this week, tomorrow to be exact, but I decided to put that one on the back burner and take some others that interested me more. As an elective I would normally not be as critical of the subject matter because I think all knowledge has something good within it, if not most of what it contains. Unfortunately this class simply did not hit a home run with peaking my interest so I decided to put the $200+ dollars toward one that is better suited for me.

MTB Ride

So I am still feeling the effects of the official mountain bike ride yesterday but I will say that it's 10x better. I can't believe how hard that 3 mile ride hit me. Not my muscles either, almost entirely my chest and lungs of all things. I think that it's due to the wind and dry weather yesterday.

Plus I found out that the route I was on is part of one of the local paths that is considered an "expert" level ride. It was definitely hard and I don't think I even made it into the most difficult areas. Eventually I will make it to the top of that ride. Even if I have to do a lot of walking initially to get to the top.

The ride down will be worth it and it's still great exercise and fun. At some point I hope to be able to do the entire route on the bike although that may take a year or so of building up to it.

Off To It

With that I am going to end this entry for the day. I need to really deep dive into work and take care if some things I have had to put on hold the past few weeks. It will be nice to have a "normal" week where I am not out every other day or in training. The month of June will have a lot of training and similar to May it will span most of the month.

Once it is said and done I should be able to slowly get things back in order again. I am looking forward to that and to spending quality time with the family this summer!

I hope your week is a good one. If you are getting a 3 day weekend this coming week then keep your head down and look forward to it, that's my plan!
