Great day at school today, learned a lot and the class flew by in no time. I was actually blown away when the instructor told us that it was time for our first break and then even more so when we were told that it was lunch time. It felt as though only an hour or so went by at the most and it was more like 4 hours.
For lunch today we had the usual catered food that we have up at that campus. Spaghetti with a meat sauce, garlic bread, salad and dessert (which was some sort of a brownie cake sort of thing) oh and then a soft drink if you were interested in having one - I opted for my water.
Anyway the class was centered around compensation and benefits which was something I thought that I knew a thing or two about to be quite honest but after the first few hours in the class I realized I did not know as much about it all as I though I did, but on the bright-side I did know a TON more than I realized at the same time.
It was well worth my time and being away from the office for a day. I always have to compare it to the time that I missed and make sure that it's time well spent away from the office. So far, out of the 7 classes that I have taken they have all been not only relevant but held my interest and so on. Worth the financial investment as well as time.
Cubed
Yesterday afternoon I was able to get through a couple of my teams one-on-one mid-year reviews which was great. I am still green at doing them but I have put a lot of effort into them as far as learning how they should go, the attention I need to give and the amount of feedback that I get from each and every person. If I am not told what they are doing great then most likely I have little to no idea what they are working on.
Trying to keep up on each and every little thing that they are or are-not doing well is something I keep notes on throughout the year so I can remember to bring these things up at mid-year but mostly so I have something for year end.
My goal is to get the rest of them done the first part of next week. I am out 2 days to attend school, Wednesday and Friday, then I have a ton of meetings in between everything as well as my usual stuff like my daily workouts so yea, I want to get them off my plate as soon as I can.
Hitch Install
All-in-all a really good day! Oh I did manage to swing by the auto parts store as well and get some ramps to use when I do the installation of the trailer hitch tomorrow. It's crazy, I went to one of the local specialty shops to get a set and they were around $300 and not even the exact ones that I was looking for. I asked Cicely to call around, she called Auto Zone and the exactly set that I wanted and forgot to order from Amazon were only $43 - cant go wrong there. I have no idea why the crappy ones at the racing store were that much more. I mean I use to race and I get the prices being a little more crazy for parts and accessories but normally not for things like ramps. Oh well, in the end I was able to get exactly what I was looking for and wanted so I am a happy camper
Out
I think that will have to do it for today. I am sleepy after not much sleep last night and then getting up early so I could get to school on time and get a good seat, something that is much more important to me than you would think. A shxtty seat can really mess up a class and make everything that much more difficult. I lucked out, got a great seat and the guy I shared the table with and I got along really great and had a lot to talk about as far as business and how things are different from the private vs. public sector of business.

Photo: Wandering into class today I snapped a quick shot of randomness so I had it for today's post and this was it. No rhyme, no reason and is nothing more or less than what it is - an extremely nice, zero wind, 84 degree day.
