Rain, More Rain

Just when we all thought that summer was officially here we start to get rain. Not just a spring or summer sprinkle either, more like a crazy hard downpour that goes as fast at it arrives, then comes again. Crazy actually, we get these fluke storms often during the hot, dry summer months but rarely this time of year.

Today it's supposed to be more of the same and much colder than it has been the past week. According to the weather guessers the weather will improve as the week goes on and gets closer to the 3-day weekend. I really don't care either way because I have no plans other than to go for a ride again.

A little cold weather won't keep me from doing that. Now if it's raining I won't go, not because I am a "fair weather rider" but because I don't have the gear for it.

3D Printer

Finally was able to order the Cube 3D printer today! I received an email from them around 11 that they were setup for pre-order and they would be shipping the second part of June. I had my order in for their scanner and printer as well as software and 5 cartridges (2 PLA, 3 ABS) by noon. We are really excited, especially since I have had the Printrbot Simple for nearly 1/2 a year and have not put the dam thing together.

I just want to print, not build and setup! The Cube 3 comes out of the box ready to go. Has tons of awesome features etc. Super excited although its a little bit of a pinch laying down almost $1800 on a Tuesday for what is essentially a "toy". By the time Zoey is in middle school they will probably cost a couple hundred bucks or so. Ah, my love for technology gets very expensive at times. Not quite as much as the motorized toys I like, but close, very close!

Anyway, more on this once it shows up at the house and we can start playing with it. I think it will be a lot of fun and a great learning experience for us both. Very excited to say the least!

Otherwise

There really is not much else to rabble about today. As I mentioned yesterday, this should be a fairly easy week compared to the last few. It is leading up to a couple crazy weeks again in June but nothing like May threw at me.

Time to dive into the day and get some things taken care of so that I can stay ahead of the week. Usually easier said than done and exactly why I am proceeding with caution.

Photo: Quick shot I took Sunday on the way to my bike ride of the fire on the mountain. I edited it with some effects I though made it look more interesting since you can barely see the smoke.
