May The Fourth

Yea I know, how cliche can I be by recognizing that today is Star Wars day and starting out my post with a title that identifies it as such. Well the funny part is that I have known about this holiday, well event / recognition day for a very long time but never really thought much of it to be honest. I simply thought it was a neat way to use the day to tie it into something else. The extremes that some take it to is a little crazy in and of itself.

Comics

Most know as I have mentioned that today is Star Wars day (5-4-14 May the 4th Be With You) but not as many of these so called geeks know that today is also free comic book day! You can go to a local comic book store in your area and if they support the day then you can get a free comic book. Now I don't know what the do exactly to make this happen, maybe they just put out some older used ones to choose from or something.

Either way it's really cool that they do this and it not only gets kids interested in reading but it expands their knowledge of things outside of traditional books, literature and newspapers which in-turn makes them to use their imagination a bunch - great concept eh? I think so!

Sore Tailbone

So I must be getting older for sure. In the past I could crawl around on the garage floor for hours and not have a single problem the next day. I could be on my knees or hunched over wrenching on my kart all day at the race track between heats and be nothing more than a little tired the next day. Well after laying on the floor for almost 2 hours +/- yesterday evening working on getting the new Curt hitch installed I woke up this morning to a sore tailbone. It's actually a bit more than sore. It hurts pretty good like I was laying on something that was under it, between me and the hard garage floor. That was not the case, and to prove it my left shoulder is sore as well.

Right now as I type this entry I am thinking that I may just need a nap. Don't really want to because like I always say, they feel as though I am wasting my day away. But I have Oggy snuggled up next to me, Cicely and Zoey are sleeping on the other area of the couch and its making me sleepy now as well. It's funny how that happens.

Not Much Else

So there is not a lot going on today otherwise. On a really down note it's Cicely's last day at home with kiddo for her maternity leave. I so wish she would have taken 10 to 12 weeks instead of only the minimum 6 then adding 2 weeks to make it 8. I don't think that it's enough time for her to really get her head back in the game and even more so, leave kiddo at the daycare. I know that is going to be really hard for her but she will be fine and knows that she can go over there to visit, feed and those kinds of things "almost" anytime that she feels like it since we have daycare right on campus at work. A benefit that most new moms and dads probably do not have so we are thankful for that.

Time now to decide if I am going to take a nap, get my but up and see if I can get some motivation going and energy flowing to get a few things done. If not it will end up being one of those lazy days and my Fitbit is going to be all over my ass for not getting in enough steps for the day. It's crazy to see how little you walk around and the lack of exercise you get when not at work or take a day off from the gym. I probably average 5 or 6 thousand at the most on the weekends per day. During the week I think I average between 9 and 11 thousand steps.

Alright enough rambling out of this guy for one day. I hope your day is great and what ever it is you are doing I hope it too goes well. Until tomorrow - Monday, blah! Have a great Sunday!

Photo: How I really feel about this day after about the 100th poster that feels they are the only one that knows or are expressing what they feel to be their pure "geek status". Ahh oh well  I guess that it is what it is and there is not much I can do about it other than enjoy the fun of the day the best that I am able to and not punch anyone in the throat for saying it to me.
