Crazy Dust Storm

Up and out of bed early today as was the rest of the family which is kinda unusual, especially considering that Cicely has not been able to sleep as much as she would like to because she cant quite snuggle in like she use to. Trust me, neither can I to be honest. Between Oggy spreading himself out like he is a dog 3x the size he actually is, to Zoey sleeping on her back all spread out and kinda sideways it leaves only a small amount of space in our queen size bed for us. No matter there is something really nice about having the entire family in there all snuggled up and sleeping, if only 2 are actually in a deep sleep and the parents are lightly snoozing all night.

Doctor

So I am up extra early today because I have to get to an early doctor appointment. Nothing exciting or interesting, nor am I sick or in need of any medications. It's more of a quick check-in just to see how things are going and nothing more. Those are the best kind of visits in my opinion because there is no stress of what is going to go on or what I may or may not need to take for a given amount of time to fix something that is not quite right. Thankfully my doctor is not like that and errors on the side of less is more if and when possible so there are no long term medications necessary every single time something changes. If it can be fixed over time by making small adjustments that tends to be the direction my doctor will want to go, I appreciate that.

Studio Event

Well today is the big day that a lot of the studio, myself included, has been looking forward to. We are all leaving at noon and heading down to the big theater in Sparks to watch Godzilla on the big screen IMAX theater. Should be a really good time even though we are not with our families and we cannot really "team build" in a movie it's still super cool to get away from the normal day-to-day and do something different. Especially because the movie starts at 1:00 PM and runs for 123 minutes which means we should be getting out of there by 3:30 or so and getting to go our separate way and begin our long weekend.

Long Weekend

As I have mentioned most days this week, this weekend is the long weekend that most of us have been looking forward to. It's super nice outside and will be nice to enjoy 3 days away from the studio. Last night was the final burst of bad weather I think and hope.

We had this CRAZY dirt storm that blew in around 10:00 PM all through the valley. I cant remember the last time something like that happened but it was not very cool. Even inside the house you could smell the dust and feel it in your sinuses. I am glad it happened later in the day though and not while everyone was commuting home from work, that may have gotten ugly.

Back in 2013 there was one that was around the time everyone was commuting home from work and it caused several massive accidents all around the valley, people were injured and or killed. Thankfully while last nights storm was no night of fun, I did not hear of any casualties thankfully.

Enjoy

Alright, time to put a fork in it and get my butt moving. Looking forward to more of a chill day today now that I have a decent amount of the scheduling done for my team, well for the first 2 quarters of 2016 anyway. It's super hard to schedule out all the way until the end of FY16 when I really cant speculate or predict the variables and related that may come up between now and then.

No matter, if you are on your way out to the lake, campground or to visit family today and not going to work - enjoy the time away. If you are just setting in for the 3 day weekend to enjoy movies or BBQ at home, that sounds great - enjoy that as well. I guess my point is that I plan to enjoy the weekend to the fullest and I would suggest you do the same! Until tomorrow, have a good one!
