Magazines
Always cool when a new issue of my bass magazine greets me at the mailbox after a long day at work. Even though 85% of the content is well beyond my knowledge and skills right now, and most likely for many years to come - I really enjoy going through it every month.
I have considered switching it over to the iPad edition of the magazine but I worry I would easily forget about new issues. I do that already with one of my Mac magazine subscriptions and it sucks. Most times I remember the magazine out-of-the-blue only to then realize I am 2+ issues behind.
You do get the little red dot with a number or alert on the iPad's application icon that there are updates and new issues via a pop-up but what happens is I download them or dismiss the pop-up and plan to read them later, and end up forgetting.
Oh well for now I will stick with the paper version of the bass magazine at least. I am actually a magazine junkie so I miss the days of going to Tower Records and spending hours looking through various topics and 100's of magazines. At some point my lunch would be over and I would call it a day and end up leaving with a stack of new and interesting media to read.
Digital is just not the same experience what-so-ever. Sure you get additional content but more is not always better material or quality.
Go!
That is all I have today, just the usual workday happenings and not much excitement (fine-by-me). Lot's to take care of this week in preparation for painting the inside of the house next week. We have been putting it off for many years and for good reason (super high ceilings and lots of taping). But the time has come and we are going to get-'er-done! (fingers crossed for luck)
