Smokey Again

Woke up this morning to the smell of smoke yet again and it had nothing to do with pope Bergoglio, well as far as I know anyway. I doubt the horse owners and farmers around the valley would burn to be symbolic in some odd manner. None-the-less, it's quickly getting old smelling like smoke, the house smelling like smoke and my eyes itching from it as well. I hope they are done with the controlled burning soon because nearly a week of a smoke filled valley is more than enough for me.

Dumb Ass Drivers

So we had an adrenalin rush on the way to work because a dum-bass in front of us decided it would be fun to crash into the divider while making a left hand turn, causing everyone else behind HER to slam on their brakes and screech to a stop in the middle of the intersection.

At least no-one was involved in any crunching of car parts so that is always a plus in my book. Fender benders are no fun when racing or commuting. At least when racing I know I am with other talented drivers that know what to do when a millisecond reaction is required to avoid a big costly pileup or worse, an injury or ambulance ride.

Innovation Week

Today is the official kick-off for Innovation Week 2013 from 9:00 until 11:00 this morning. We are not attending this year since we are off next week so it will be interesting to hear how it all goes.

Last year some of the groups got pretty crazy and were even close to throwing blows over ideas and how to accomplish certain tasks. My group was pretty cohesive and functional, unfortunately we did not walk away with any prizes but the experience was interesting. Meeting others is always crappy at first but worth it after its all said and done. It's easy to not know most of the people outside of your immediate group when your company has 5,000+ employees worldwide.

Old Furniture

Tomorrow we are going to give our old living room furniture to a friends daughter who needs house stuff after a nasty breakup with her man. After we plan to go to the gem and mineral show for a little while then go shopping for all of our painting supplies for the coming week of painting the interior of the house. I am both looking forward to it and dreading it so my fingers are crossed for luck!

Done

That is it for this entry. Just a busy Friday between work and things outside of work. Time to refocus and get stuff done. While breaks and naps are nice I just hate being idle so it's a bit of a curse in my world to find the happy place between necessary rest and unnecessary expedited tasks.

On that note, have an awesome Friday and if you go out to get your drink on dont drive. The last thing anyone needs is your drunk ass hurting someone, or worse!
