Shorts

Woke up this morning to a smokey sky out the window, and before you ask no - I was not in Vatican City witnessing the new pope election. Seems our neighbors north from us about a mile away are doing their annual controlled burning and boy does it stink. Not like burning firewood, more like burning everything but firewood. Hopefully it will clear out of the Spanish Springs valley by tonight.

Shorts Weather, WOOT!

So we are supposed to hit 77 degrees today and to celebrate it I am pulling shorts out of the dresser for the first time in 2013. I need to get a little sunshine on my winter white legs, plus it feels dam good to not be in jeans. I am a shorts nut and if it did not get so cold here in the winter I would wear them more often all year long.

Heck we use to go up snowboarding on the blue sky days and wear shorts. The snow is a great reflector for tanning the legs, problem is you have to have some serious sunblock on your face or you will pay for it in the form of a nasty sunburn. Not to mention you will look like a raccoon for a week or more because the goggles block the UV rays around that area! Not a good idea to call in sick at work to go because its obvious where you were, and it wasn't in bed with chicken noodle soup!

VATICAN CITY - Argentine Jorge Bergoglio was elected pope Wednesday and chose the papal name Francis, becoming first pontiff from the Americas and the first from outside Europe in more than a millennium. The media stated that a stunned-looking Bergoglio shyly waved to the crowd of tens of thousands of people who gathered in St. Peter's Square, marveling that the cardinals had had to look to "the end of the earth" to find a bishop of Rome.

Early day getting in at work for the usual Wednesday game meetings, boo! But at least it gets us out of work an hour earlier on the tail end of things and home with the fuzzy kid. It's nice because we have been able to take him for walks after work due to daylight savings time.

Anyway, that is all I have for today. Hopefully you are sportin' some shorts as well! I for one am lovin' this weather big-time!
