Painting Day 2

Up and moving a little later today. I was lucky enough to be up praying to the porcelain god from 2:00 until nearly 4:00 AM. No idea what caused it either, that is the worst because now I am nervous about any leftovers I have from yesterday.

Urban Putty

Today we started with our first application of paint on the entertainment niche and kitchen. We are going with this lighter sort of muddy color (but in a good way) called Urban Putty mixed for us by Sherwin-Williams. It's looking really f'n good if I do say so myself. Although our walls are super thirsty as expected so 2 coats are going to be an absolute must.

We will try and paint until it's just not bright enough in the house to not make mistakes and miss a bunch of spots at the same time. Nothing crappier than needing to go back over ares because of a sloppy first coat.

Awesome Paint

Even though it's nearly $60 a gallon before our discount, the Emerald by Sherwin-Williams is worth every cent. Awesome stuff, and I would not hesitate to suggest it to anyone that has the extra budget in a project. Skip the Behr and get some Emerald from Sherwin-Williams paint.

Don't get me wrong, Behr and many others are outstanding paints, we have used many of them for several projects because they are much more affordable. It's just hard to describe how nice the Emerald goes down in comparison. I never would have believed it had I not given it a try. The exterior of my house was recently painted with a similar product from Sherwin-Williams as well as our Tuff Shed and they look and weather great!

Back At It

That is all for today. I need to dive back into the project before I get lazy and lose my motivation. We will need to stop in a little while for a dinner break anyhow to fill up our gas tanks and rest our feet for a few minutes. Hope your Monday is treating you well!
