Painting Day 1

Up and moving early again, dam this is becoming a habit I think. Well except on workdays, it seems we can find a way to oversleep or be running late almost daily! Today is the first day of painting the main part of the house so it was important to be up and moving as early as we could. Worked out great because we did all of our running around for supplies yesterday.

Prep Work

Today has been nothing but prepping the walls for the upcoming coats of fresh paint. Cicely has been taping and masking like crazy while I have been taking care of drywall cracks, drywall tape lifting and nails that were coming through. Lots of mud mixing, taping, sanding and vacuuming throughout the day. I still need to apply the texturing to the wall so hopefully that part goes as smoothly as the rest of it has so far.

Waiting for the drywall mud to dry I decided it was a perfect time to take care of some caulking as well. Around windows, doors and other joints that were in need of some freshening. The bad part is that once you get going its super hard to not do every single area you see. I did a lot that's for sure, but don't worry I mad sure to save some for a rainy day?

Paint

Most likely we will start our first coat of paint tomorrow rather than try to squeeze it in today and end up rushing through it. It really all depends on how Cicely feels after she is done taping and how I feel after texturing. It's all a shxt-ton of work, but fun at the same time. Music is cranked up and beers are being consumed so its all good!

Rest

For now that will be all this entry. Oh I should mention we borrowed dads truck yesterday so we could pick up a bad-ass 10' Werner ladder I have been wanting for quite some time. Our ceilings are super high so the 6' ladder we have just doesn't cut it. Anyway, on that note enjoy your Sunday and Happy St.Patricks day as well!
