Painting Day 4

Yep you probably guessed what my first paragraph was going to talk about and for that you get a gold star! Way-to-go ya' scholar! For those that may not have guessed, I was up early - considering the late nights, painting before 8:00 AM. This painting session did not stop until just before 10:00 PM, no joke straight through with the exception of stopping to eat Panda Express Chinese food with Cicely. Wow, I don't think these walls are ever going to end or quit soaking-up the paint. They are thirsty from years of not being painted that's for sure!

Second Coats

So the walls that have had their second coats and slight touch-ups today have all of the masking tape removed and things like light switch plates and related installed back in those areas. I will be the first to say, we do really good friggin' work, our walls look totally professional. I am not saying that because we did it and I am proud of it. I mean I am proud of what we have accomplished so far, but between the masking, awesome paint, tools and more importantly our eye for detail it looks killer.

Tomorrow morning I have an appointment (woo-hoo, a break!) although the minute we get home it will be second coats on the remainder of the walls that we did not get to today as well as trimming up the areas right up near the ceiling.

To be honest, even though Cicely and I are having a blast listening to music, chatting and laughing all throughout this project I am hoping we can pretty much wrap-it all up tomorrow or mid-day Friday at the latest. I never would have guessed it would have taken us this long to paint. I mean I did throw a few wrenches into the project by adding some areas to mask and do some creative things with the lighter and darker paints, but it's still a much bigger project than I had anticipated, and I am sure this will not be the last time I point that out!

Enough

I think I will stop for today and call it a night on both painting and this entry. I am pretty exhausted and am ready to watch an episode or 2 of Eureka and chill if my eyes will stay open long enough to do so. I would actually like to chow down a little of my left-over Panda lunch but the thought of that sitting in my system all night makes me rethink the idea. Ok, goodnight!

Photo: Purdy, the only brushes and rollers I ever use - why? Because they are friggin' awesome! Sure they are going to cost you a little more money than those on the next rack over, but they are totally worth it.
