Really nice day out today, not quite as nice as yesterday was but you won't hear me complaining about it. A little wind and slightly colder than anticipated is still better than a snow day.
Lot's Of Flying
Really all I did today was setup and fly my newest quadcopter, the Blade MQX. It is a pretty nice quad once you get use to its characteristics. It's much easier and much less temperamental than my Traxxas quad, but its also about twice the size.
Neither are as good at hovering nor as stable overall as my AR.Drone though, but that was to be expected. The MQX does have an on board stability system like the drone does, but the drones blade size and down facing cameras are pretty hardto beat for stability and maneuverability. I was flying it tonight in much more gusty, but light wind and it was not too bad I just had to really keep up with it.
I think all said and done i flew 2 full packs in the drone and 4 in the Blade. Does not sound like a lot I know, but it works out to over an hour of total flight time. Much less crashing today as well which I assume can only mean that my skills are improving. Flying the smaller, more sensitive quads has really helped me with my AD.Drone skills. Maybe one day I will try out a regular heli again and see how it goes. In the past it usually goes crashing into everything and becomes a money pit -- but I am older and wiser now right?
Enjoy Your Saturday
That was pretty much my day. There were other things mixed in like watching some shows on TiVo and Apple TV as well as YouTube while Cicely was out running her errands and meeting customers. She did an interview with Reno Tahoe Tonight as well which is really bad ass for lack of better words. She has done several the past couple months for various papers so that is awesome! For me its time to go have some tasty chicken Alfredo and watch supercross if it recorded today. If not I will find something to occupy my time. I have not started filling up the shed yet so I might as well start to break in the new couch!
