Already the day is half over as I start to write a little of the entry. Both Cicely and Zoey are still in bed sleeping which is kinda crazy to be honest. I mean it's already just after 11:00 and I would think that Zoey would be getting woken up by the gurgles in her hungry belly? Iffy is still snuggled in as well of course. He will lay in bed with you all day long or snuggle up on the couch with you. He does this even more when you are not feeling 100%, such a smart little guy for sure!
Cycling
I was not planning to go for a ride today other than later this afternoon with Cicely and Zoey although I may go ahead and go for a short one after all. Nothing crazy or long as far as hours, more like something around an hour should suffice and will only equate to ten to fifteen miles more than likely which is more than enough for today to get the blood warmed up for the rest of the day.
Either way, later in the afternoon I want to put the GoPro camera on the commuter bike that has the trailer attached and record our ride with it aiming at Zoey. Not sure how interesting it will be honestly, but I think it will be a fun me more to have and a good camera test. I have other, better and more stable as well as functional mounts coming this week so this may not be the best video today.
Fire HD
We showed Zoey the new Fire HD last night and she was really excited about it and continued to give it sloppy kisses as well as poking at it. I think it's still a tad advanced for her age but it's a (relatively) inexpensive way to introduce her to the technologies out there in her world.
There are a few annoyances with the software that is for the kids specifically called 'FreeTime'. It does not allow you to lock the rotation of the screen so this tends to confuse or distract her when she moves and it's flipping orientation on her constantly. No matter, she will get the hang of it and be that much more comfortable around technology I hope. She still loves her books and toys so that is good and very important to us as well. I refuse to let her have her nose buried in only her electronics and miss the rest of the world around her.
I doubt she will or would fall into that category anyway. She loves to see people (she must get that from Cicely) and loves to be outdoors (must get that from me) although what kid doesn't like to play outside I guess, right?!
It's fun and exciting to watch her learning, at the same time it's helping me to learn and understand how to be more patient and help her to better understand those things in her 'everything is brand new' world, I love it!
Otherwise
Today I hope to get most of the usual stuff taken care of like the lawn as well as the things that I've been meaning to start such as looking at the fan in the master bathroom and determine why it's rattling and if it needs replacing.
I want, well want is a poor choice of words, more like I 'have to' get up on the roof and try to fix the issue with water dripping down and messing up the side door of the house from back splash. It is also causing too much rain in this area to collect and the drainage built into the concrete pad can't handle it very effectively.

There are several other things as well though instead of listing them here I will get my ass outside and start on them after my ride. I think that will make better use of my time, don't you?
So until next time, which means tomorrow, enjoy your day if you are not working and heck enjoy it even if you are, at least you're making money!
Photo: This is Zoey's new device. She is not as 'into it' as her books at this time, but at the same time she is into it. I am okay with that as this is just an extra bit of fun and stuff for her. Big picture I want her to learn about the world around her too!
