The manufacturer as well as pediatricians recommend that they stay facing backwards until they are at least 2 years old although its preferred if you can do so until they are as old as 4 years old. At the rate she is growing, 4 may be tough as she will be squished in there for space I think. As it is now her little legs already touch the back of the seat she is facing.
Tonight after work or possibly once we get back home I will have Cicely help me adjust the seat a little bit more in hopes of making it more vertical, in-turn getting Zoey a tad more leg room to move around and stretch out on our long commutes to and from work. That is secondary to her safety of course but still really important to me for the obvious reasons you'd think.
Summer Stuff
Hopped on Amazon today before work and ordered Zoey a bunch of new clothes for this summer, well not clothes so much, more accessories. Hopefully it's all the correct size and all things that will fit her so that she can use them throughout the rest of the summer.
Got her some things for splashday at school which is starting this week on Friday. Because she is transitioning between the Kittens and the Ponies classrooms she was almost able to get two splashdays. The ponies have theirs on Wednesday, tomorrow.
I guess I should explain what splashday is as I'm assuming that you know. Heck I would not have known what it was reading this. I would have put two and two together and made some assumptions I suppose. Anyway, when its splashday they go out and play in the water, run through the sprinklers and stuff like that. Basically anything to get wet, play and cool down when it's hot outside.
Sounds like a lot of fun and from what we've seen in the past it is a lot of fun for her and all of her classmates. It was really cute when she was in the Lambs because they are all so small that they basically sit and play in a big Tupperware thing filled with lukewarm, mostly on the cooler side, water. Honestly it must be a ton of work for the teachers.
They have to get all of the kids changed into their swimming suits, covered in sunscreen, hats, glasses if they have them, special swimming diapers and sometimes water shoes if the parents want them to wear them during it.

Once done, maybe after an hour I guess or less, they have to bring the kids inside, dry them off, wash them up, change back into regular diapers and clothes then clean up all of the stuff that was used for the splashday event. Sounds like a ton of work to me for such a short event but the kids seem to really love it and the teachers have a good time as well even though it's more work for them than usual those days.
Anyway, back to the clothes and stuff, we will be able to use them when we take her to the lake or pools as well so it won't be money spent to simply use for a few days of fun at school. Once we get her into swim classes she will be able to use the stuff for that as well.
Oh, besides the hats, only bought two, and the one new swimming suit I picked her out a beach towel that is similar to her bath towels. Meaning it has a hoodie built into it to keep their heads warm or to help dry them off especially for girls when they have a lot of hair. I think she will like it and it will work out good for her at splashdays and elsewhere.
Possibly Go For A Spin
Tonight I'm going to probably go for a ride and see how my body does on the road bike. I have wanted to get on the bike since I hurt my back on Saturday right at the end of my ride of course. Thankfully it's not the area that I usually pinch or piss-off, although it hurts like a mofo because it's a new area. Well new to me area as far as pain and injury goes.
This time it's mostly my right side and lower part of my waist and hip on the same side. Walking and sitting is not bad, anything in-between those is what hurts. Meaning as I get up, as I sit down and so on. Bending over hurts and I have to use my arm on my opposite leg to support my weight and not hurt myself more.
Anyway, we will see how it goes and if I am able to handle it without hurting myself more or simply pissing off the injury more. Something I don't need because today it's finally feeling just a touch better than it has the last few.
That's All For Today
That's about all that I have to rabble rabble about today. The day is done and we are almost at home so it's time for me to wrap up this last paragraph and call it a day. Overall the week has been kinda crazy busy but not terribly stressful at least which helps.
Tomorrow I have my meeting with my team so that will take a lot of time out of the day to do the pre-meeting work and then the follow ups that always come after our meetings once everyone has time to digest news. All in a day's work though and what I signed up for and actually have a lot of fun doing the majority of the time anyway, that's a huge plus in my book!
