The Fires Out

So yesterday I decided that I had had about enough with the stupid Amazon Fire HD I bought for Zoey just under three weeks back. At lunch Cicely had some errands to run so I went with her to the summit mall. That is where the Apple Store is, which is where I wanted to go, and it's where Dillard's is which is where she wanted to go.

Her goal was to buy this really cool Betsey Johnson handbag that looks exactly like a gumball machine, filled up to the brim with gumballs of all the colors of the rainbow. I obviously am not a purse guy, it's really cool looking and does look exactly like a gumball machine.

Anyway, I had had more than enough with the Fire HD so I shipped that out today and back to Amazon and while up at the Summit mall I went to the Apple Store and picked up an iPad Mini for Zoey to replace the Fire.

Sure, it's a much more expensive device, in the long run I am of the opinion that she will be able to get a lot more use out of it. The Fire was far too limited and the OS needs some serious attention along with the Freetime application that is with it "for the children" as the last thing that that application is, is made for children.

Without going into complete detail other than what I have, I will leave it at that and just say that I think things will be much better now for her in that way. She will be able to do more with it. The device is the same as mom and daddy have so maybe she will not be as interested in our when we are using them (yea right!).

Even if not, its all good - I would rather have her on an Apple device, at least while at home, to learn on for coloring, music and so on instead of a Android based device.

The only crazy part when you think about it is the fact that a toddler, only 15 months old is getting a device that is over $700 when you include the device, super crazy protective case and then the AppleCare+ in case she has any accidental incidents.

It's okay though, I think that it's worth it for her and will help her to learn more about technology and the world she is growing up in. If done correctly as we are trying to do, she will still get to use and develop a nice crazy imagination as well which I think is very important.

Dinner Time

Time for me to call this entry done for now. I have dinner on the way from Cicely and I don't want to be eating while its getting cold. I have done that way too many times this week already and not only is it uncool on my part after Cicely takes the time to make it but also because she will usually wait for me to have her dinner as well.

As an example, because of this we ended up, well I ended up, eating dinner at just after 11:00 last night, not good for the body! Then Cicely did not even get to eat anything because she was so exhausted from the day.

So yea, that is the happenings and now the end of this post. I am on number 982 which means that I am so close to 1k posts, and my stopping point should I choose to do that or go all the way until my birthday and then stop. No real significance to doing that, it's a little cooler being able to stop them at the 1k mark. I would love to go and go with them - in reality its a real pain-in-the-@ss!

Have a great weekend! If you are in the same area as I am, be ready for some lava hot weather the next couple days. I mean not Phoenix hot, but hot for here. Today it hit the hundreds off and on and tomorrow its supposed to be pushing over that mark by several degrees. I think we may head up to Lake Tahoe for the day and enjoy the weather, try to not get sunburned and just relax!

Photo: Nothing much to show other than the packaging and the specs of the new Gold iPad Mini 3 that I picked up for Zoey at the Apple Store. I am sure everyone is familiar with them so this is just the box that it came in. I will set it up for her sometime tomorrow. Until then, it's ready and waiting as am I, to get the thing ready for Zoey to use. I'm thinking that she will more than love it, I hope!
