Ended With A Pinch

Fairly quick post today because I've been out cycling the majority of the morning and just got back a little while ago. The entire ride was actually really good other than the stupid wind which no matter how much I try and tell myself I'll eventually get used to I never do.

I ended up only doing a little over 40 miles which in reality is a great ride although I would have liked to push until I was over 70 so that I could achieve this months goal of one ride of 130km or more. I know it seems as though I was just right there with 40 some miles under my belt and if I had only went a little longer I could have accomplished it. I have went through the same thing in my head in the past because I've thought it was very close and within reach.

The harsh reality is that it's much further away than you think. That additional 30 or 34 miles ends up taking several hours to complete. At that point it's also dependent on the weather, the amount of water you have left as well as the wind which I guess goes hand-in-hand with the weather obviously.

The thought did cross my mind although I knew that I did not have the strength and I was already feeling fairly fatigue at that point. I decided to go up and around one more street to get the extra miles before coming home hindsight this was a mistake.

With only one half mile or less to go I had to cross one major intersection to get over into my neck of the woods. Upon approaching the intersection there was a car in every direction at the four way stop. I slowed down, and did so in a high gear unfortunately, only creeping up to the intersection. I realized that all of the cars were patiently waiting for me except one that seemed annoyed but was still mostly waiting. This was my queue to stand up, put some weight on the pedals and get through the stop.

The moment that I did this I knew before or just as it was happening, exactly what was happening. I felt a familiar pinch going from my back over to my side and into my leg a little bit. I knew that I either pinched nerve or I Pinched one of the muscles or a combination of both. This would end up screwing up the remainder of my weekend for sure.

Once back home and taking off my gear I knew that my back was going to be pretty darn sore. It was already hurting quite a bit and I had literally just gotten there. On the bright side I guess it happened just before getting home so I did not have to deal with it for miles and miles to get back home. Honestly if that ever was to happen I'd prolly just call or text Cicely to come get me.

Tomorrow will be interesting as well because it will either be much worse feeling or about the same, just enough to make it so I can't do much of anything for the day that I want to, sucks!

Anyway, that is all that is going on for today and for this entry. I think I'm going to try and go mow the lawn and hope that will loosen up my back a little bit. I figure the more I move the better it will be, hopefully anyway. Otherwise I may just be pissing it off I guess. Know way to really know, but I can't just sit around doing nothing all evening that's for sure.

Photo: One of the photo's I snapped while take a few minutes to eat a snack out on my bike ride today. I have a tendency to only take photos up in this area lately, I need to put a stop to that and do something different when up there. Otherwise everything is tagged as the sheriff's office or the correctional facility up in the area, both places I don't want to spend any time unless it's to do a quick update of something.
