Dads Birthday

Here we are sitting on the top of the middle of the week already. Sure it's only just the start but so far the days have flown by fairly quickly compared to some weeks. Plus when the weather is nice out it's really easy to have spring or summer fever and wish that you were outside, at the lake or anywhere other than where you are currently at.

On the plus side, we have air conditioning in the house, at work and in the car so the hot days of summer growing up are not as bad as they once were. There was nothing like being hot, sweating and then having to get into a hot car only to stick to the vinyl seats or if you were lucky enough not to, you'd still end up with a big wet spot on your back from the seat material.

Birthday

Today is my dads birthday, Happy Birthday Dad! Hope it's a great day for him and my step-mom spoils him all day long if she is at home today from work. Otherwise, tonight maybe they can go out and have a nice dinner or something like that to celebrate. With Fathers Day just around the corner as well it's always a busy week for him in June, one I think he probably enjoys. I mean who would not like the attention of two special days like that all wrapped into a couple weeks of a single month?!

Today Cubed

I setup an early meeting this time for my team instead of the normal meeting which is usually just after lunch. A bit of a pain in the ass at times to be honest because everyone has to rush back from whatever it is that they are doing at lunch. Some peeps on the team will workout or hike, ride their bikes or go out and eat.

Others will use the time to catch up on things they were not able to get to that morning and eat while working. Then there are those that will work through their lunch if they need to get out of the office a little early that day for some reason or maybe they had an appointment and don't want to use their vacation time to cover it.

Today's meeting is scheduled intentionally just before lunch so we are forced to wrap it up as quick as we can. Otherwise its really easy to sit there and go on and on especially when we have topics that end up engaging everyone more than usual. My hope is that I'm actually able to get through everything that I need to because the agenda has grown a lot since the last meeting and we will not even be covering every single detail this time that I wanted to like one of the guys that was going to do a demo of a new tool or another guy that was going to demo his game.

Ponies

Zoey spent even more time today over at the ponies and so far from what the teachers are telling us, she is doing really good and having a lot of fun in the new classroom. She likes checking out all of the new toys and seeing the new people that she is not used to seeing everyday. She gets to go outside more than before as long as the weather is under 95 out, anytime it's over 95 then they are not allowed to go out because it's not safe.

When it's in the 90s they go out but they will only be allowed to be outside for 15 to 20 minutes at a time. They then come in, rest and cool down and are able to then go back outside for another 15 to 20 minutes at a time.

I'm glad to hear that she is doing good and having fun. More times than not I think we worry much more than she does about moving up classes. To her it's fun, new people and she still gets to see the familiar faces as well throughout the day. She was not in the last class for very long, the Kittens, compared to her first class which was the Lambs. I think from what we've heard she will be in the Ponies for quite a while longer. I for one hope so, this way her friends start to catch up with her, well those friends that she knew from basically birth.

Outta Wind

I'm thinking that this will have to be enough for today. I'm ready to dive into the day and continue to see what comes of it. The next couple weeks will be a little more crazy because my manager is off for both of them, one other manager is also gone for much of it and that will leave me and one other manager for anything that is engineering related for a couple weeks. It will honestly prove to not be that big of a deal and we will be able to contact them if needed, not that we would want to while someone is on vacation.

Anyway, as I said that will be it for today's entry. No reason to continue to rabble if I don't have anything to add of value or reflection. Hopefully your week is treating you well also and you are ready to be on the downhill side of the week, leading into the weekend. Hopefully the weather is nice, my back feels okay and I am able to enjoy it with my girls. If not, I will do my best to make the best of it and go from there. Either way, just being with my girls is a great day everyday.

Photo: The photo for today is an obvious choice. Hoping the day is a great one and he gets all that he is wanting out of it. Whether that is being left alone to relax or a full day and evening out on the town doing things he enjoys!
