Splashday Friday

Kudos to all of us for making it to the end of another workweek once again. The week was not bad by any means nor was it long and drawn out as some weeks can be, yes even the good ones at times can seem to go on forever. Especially when you have things that you want to get back to on projects or need to take care of for your team in my case nowadays.

It's funny how that has shifted for me now that I'm in management. I enjoy helping others solve simple to complex problems or at the very least help to remove what they think is complex when in reality it may not be that big of a deal to reassign or evaluate. In turn, making their day much brighter and productive than it would have otherwise been.

Interesting Saying

Today I was reading through a few status updates online while waiting for a few things to finish up and read a saying relating to a type of person that I've heard many times in my lifetime I'm sure, although it never really resonated with me for some reason?

The saying is when someone has a 'young body, but an old soul'. Meaning that they are new, physically but their soul has been around the block a few times, in a good way. They are better able to read people, have a lot of street smarts and common sense. If you think about the saying or the way to describe someone, it's really an interesting way to look at it.

Other than that I really don't have much else to say about it. I mostly wanted to get it down in black and white as to the fact that it really got me to thinking today more than it ever has in the past when I have heard the phrase. Pretty cool when that sort of thing happens!

Full Time Pony

So today is the last day that Zoey is a Cuddly Kitten at daycare. She had a week to audit the new class and make sure that she did in fact fit-in and was having a good time. Most importantly that mentally and physically to verify that she is ready for the move, she is!

Because today is the splashday for the kittens, she had to miss out on the splashday with the ponies. I guess she was not happy when she saw all of them outside playing this afternoon and she was stuck inside with the kittens. It's a really good sign that she remembers most of the kids and is happy to see them again instead of being sad and having anxiety about moving.

Anyway, there is no turning back next week, she will be full time in the classroom and will be there for much longer than she was in the kittens classroom. The kittens is more of a transition room for the kids that are too big for the Ducks or Lambs and not yet big enough to be a pony full time.

I'm excited for her to be in the class, much more than I was for her to move into the kittens. For some reason that move made me feel as though I was losing my little baby girl and she was growing up too fast already. I do feel that way again, but because it's been such a short stay in the kittens it has not bothered us as bad. Easy to say right now, I may have a different opinion on the matter come Monday.
