Pony Time

Well as of this morning when I dropped off Zoey at Daycare the question that we were not quite ready for was brought up, and of course on the day that I took her in, so this meant that I had to take the news out to Cicely and then us discuss what the next step would be for Zoey.

Kittens To Ponies

So what the school is wanting us to consider is to move Zoey up a classroom so that she is with the older kids in the kittens. The class is really not 'that much different' than the class that she is in now, they just do different things, have fewer naps, eat at more of a table setting with a booster seat rather than a miniature high chair like she uses now.

All really good things and positive really. It means that she is advancing really well and that she is getting bored in the class as it's not stimulating her enough. It could be why she is so full of energy at times as well towards the end of the day where-as before, when she was first in the room she was pretty much exhausted by the time we picked her up.

She will get to go outside a lot more as well which is awesome. She loves to be outside, of course what kid doesn't like to be I guess. When they originally talked to me about it they figured she would be moving up on or around the 26th of this month. Cicely texted them and talked to the person in charge of the moves and found out that she would be moving the 22nd but slowly transition the week before into the new room to get her acclimated to the environment.

Probably one of the most difficult moves will be when she moves up to the classes where they no longer have cribs, instead they sleep in cots for nap-time. Heck I dunno, but I don't think that is the case with this change. Actually I'm almost certain that its not because that would be too soon for kids to start doing that. Zoey would roll out for sure, she moves a ton when she sleeps.

That's It

So that is the 'big news' for today. We are happy about it honestly, she will have a lot of fun and get to meet even more new people and teachers. She tends to be such a 'people person' that I think she will really enjoy it and have fun. More times than not it's much harder on Cicely and I, not Zoey. We worry too much about how she will feel or fit in when in reality she does not care, she just wants to learn, meet new people and friends and then go home with us at the end of the day.

Once the change happens I will be sure to post more info on the difference at that time. My guess is that there is not much more than I listed above, and it's simply one more step up for her. It's amazing how fast they grow and how quickly the time goes by. It still seems just like yesterday that she was in the lambs, her first class. It was scary enough when we knew we had to move her from there to the kittens and she did amazing and we immediately noticed huge gains in her abilities.

Anyway, if you are nervous kiddo and we did not realize it, don't worry - you will do awesome as you always do. You will have two or three friends moving up with you at the same time and you will have a chance to meet new kids as well. Maybe there will be boys in the class as well. So far every class that you've been in has been all girls since day one. Of course I want you to stay far far away from the boys for a very long time, I don't think I can handle that yet.

Oh and besides making friends in the new classroom, don't forget to beat up the biggest kid in class to set the stage for who runs barter town okay! We love you and are so very proud of you every day!

Photo: This was the best that I could come up with for today's photo. I was hoping that I would find something like a liger (tiger and lion mix) but a kitten horse mix. No such luck so an artist out there needs to get on this, it's uncharted territory.
