Just Like That, It's Monday

Already Monday if you can believe that crap! The weekend flew by just as they seem to always do. I am still a huge proponent of the three day weekend and the four day workweeks. I personally think that it would do a lot of people good, cut back on the amount of time people otherwise take off and would potentially boost moral if everyone has more time away from the office to spend with their friends and families.

I know as well as anyone reading this that the chances of this happening in the U.S. Is not very likely. Corporate America has the best chance of success with it although most corporations that are large enough to do this would also not be the ones to introduce something like this unless it was offset by something like ten hour workdays to replace those hours lost by shortening the week.

In reality, if only every other week was set up this way for example it could work out to the advantage of the employees and the companies as well. Again, the introduction of it and even beyond the initial roll out could prove difficult.

I could almost make this happen simply using the vacation time that I have, though it would almost need to be an every other year thing to work out. Otherwise the rate that I receive time off would be too slow to replenish the time I would have taken off. As it sits now, based on the years that I've been with my company I earn something like 6.25 hours a pay period I believe.

That works out to less than a day every two weeks and not even close to enough to make a four day workweek a common occurrence. If so it would really screw up vacation days as well, there would not be time left for stretches of days off either so again that would lower moral and force employees to decide which is more important. Time with family and friends for short bursts or weekly?

This of course also assumes that everyone would have this four day workweek schedule, my guess is that they would not. Smaller companies would not be able to easily provide this to employees as a benefit as they may lose a lot of income those days.

So in that scenario, the more likely one too, one day a week you'd have little to nothing to do with your friends and family because they would more than likely be at work doing the five day workweek.

Kinda reminds me of the same thing that I hear from people that are retired. They have a lot of time to do stuff but no one to do it with. At the same time does that have people to do things with and have the time but they do not have the money. It seems to always be the dilemma with almost everything.

Back

My back is about the same today as it has been all weekend. It's not feeling that great but is definitely better than it was on Saturday when I initially got off the bike. I was hoping that by now it would be better unfortunately it's still hurting and limiting my movement out of pain and pressure.

It's been an ongoing thing for years now and I'd really like it to stop flaring up! It seems to have some sort of problem nearly every week, give or take. You would think that by now it would be better because I workout and try to take care of myself although I admittedly do not do a lot of back exercises mostly because it does not always help and at times it just makes it sore, then I end up either pissing it off again or fatiguing it more before doing things I enjoy like cycling.

I absolutely hate it more than you can imagine, well unless you have back issues that you deal with. In that case, then you know what I'm talking about. It's a real double edge sword as I always say. You workout to stay fit and working out is what sometimes hurts you so you can't
