Wind Is Getting Old

I slept in today longer than I had planned to but I was still up by 8 AM so that was not too bad. I had a feeling that I might get up early, more close to 6 o'clock, and be able to head out by 7 to go for a spin and put the necessary miles in to reach my goal. It's approaching fast, I am getting worried that after all of this hard work I still may not make the goal, I have quite a ways to go and not much time left in the challenge.

Instead, and exactly like yesterday, I did not get out of the house until after 12 noon. Today was actually later because I got out at 1:30 in the afternoon. It was super windy by then and it really kicked my ass compared to yesterday. I was already fairly tired from yesterday's ride but I pushed on.

All said and done by the time I got back I had accomplished a little over 36 miles. This was fairly good compared to what I thought I would be able to do today. Initially when I hit about 7 miles I thought I was about done and would need to start heading back home and just call it a day.

I continued to push and do some leaps in certain areas that gave me a small break from the wind halfway through so that helped. If it wasn't for the wind I probably couldn't wait closer to 40 or 50 miles today fairly easy.

Other than that it was a fairly mellow day. We watched some shows on Netflix and had Taco Bell for lunch. Probably not the best choice of course but it was what we had close by. There was no food to make so that was the only thing that we could go with other than having some toast with jelly on it. No thanks, that is not enough food after a ride.

Week Is About To Start

Tomorrow it's back to work and getting the week underway once again. There is not a lot of crazy stuff going on as there has been the past few weeks so that is nice at least. We did decide to take off this Friday so that will give us an extra day and a three-day weekend which we really. Then the following we decided off the Friday and the Monday so we will have a four-day weekend.

I am looking forward to all of those plus pretty soon we have to go over to Cicely's parents house and celebrate her sister Danika's graduation from college.

It's awesome that she is graduating and can move on to figure out more of what she wants to do with her career and go forward with those plans and goals. She intends on being a police officer I think although I'm not sure if she plans to do more crime scene type stuff or what.

No matter, she will do great. If she decides it's not for her that is okay as well, she is young enough to do so still and make career changes a few times until she finds the one that suites her best.

Okay, seriously this time - I am going to end this post for the day and enjoy the rest of what is left of the Sunday afternoon. Weekends go by so friggin' fast it really does suck!

Photo: This is a really cool treat that Cicely picked up for Oggy on Friday after getting his wet and dry dog food at Scraps Dog Food Company. She picked up a few others too, most are the normal treats that he likes except for one other, it looks just like a slice of pepperoni pizza! I'll try to remember to get a photo of that one too.
