Truncated Week

Well here we are once again sitting on the top of another brand new week. This week should have things getting back to normal in most ways.

All of the reviews for mid-year have been completed as of last Thursday, no special events are happening this week, so far anyway. Last week was everything from lunches with the international studio guys from Nexus, our China studio. The movie day that we had on Friday to see The Avengers and whatever else was thrown in that I have since forgotten.

Cycling

This is pretty much the last week and last chance to make my goal of 1225 kilometers in 40 days. When I signed up for the challenge I did not think it would be this difficult to achieve. I knew that going into it I was already five to eight days behind, still I figured that it was more than enough time to put in the miles necessary.

As of yesterday when I entered my spin I'm sitting at 981 kilometers so I am getting there. I will be the first to admit that it has been much more difficult than anticipated that it would be. At the same time I missed three days last week so that set me back quite a bit. Probably close to 35 miles or more!

Tonight when I get home I will need to mow the lawn, front and back, then try to dredge up the energy to put miles on the bike trainer. If it wasn't for the trainer it would have been impossible for me to be as close as I am to the goal. Sure most spins are short on the trainer, generally 10 miles or so, the longer ones have been 20 to slightly over 30 which is really friggin' difficult to do, but doable.

I have this Friday off, both as a rest and relaxation day from work but also a safety net in case I need to put in those final miles for the month. I signed up for the Gran Fondo as well, only the 100, which means that I need a 62+ miles in a single ride to achieve it. Much easier than the Gran Fondo 130 which is over 83 miles. That one is tough because once you are in the 80's it's like 'why stop now, go a little longer and put in a century!'

Anyway

That is about all that is going on today and what the week is looking like so far. Hopefully everything stays fairly mellow, I can really use a week like that. Missing the gym all last week was really tough, I don't like to do that. Wait, maybe I did make it one day, I don't remember to be honest? Either way, diving in and taking it all an hour at a time!

Last but not least, because it's 5-4-15 "May The Fourth Be With You!"

Photo: This is one of Zoey's cool balls that she got from Santa over at grandma and grandpa Mendoza's this year. Now that she is older she is playing with stuff like this more. It's a little creepy and almost sinister looking up close, in reality, it's a great ball - fun and easy for her to grip too!
