Morning Class

Today begins with us rushing out the door to get through the newly backed up traffic areas that are being caused in and around the area. On the highways they are doing some lane swapping to try and alleviate the jams that occur at various times of the day and a specific area or two.

Doing so by swapping part of the northbound lane to the southbound side and the opposite on the other side. This in turn should alleviate the congestion in those areas, though I have concern that they may add additional congestion from those trying to speed through or past those areas.

Legal Issues For Managers

We are rushing today because I have a class at work first thing in the morning, then after dropping me off at the training center, Cicely has to rush over to the daycare, drop off kiddo and make it downtown to her appointment to have her hair done. A bit of a crazy morning more for her than anyone and that sucks, partially because I had a difficult time getting my ass going today.

Once in class it was a good one, quick too, only a couple hours long which was really nice. I mean I could stay in one of those classes all day if I had to just to continue to learn and gather additional information about the things I am responsible for as well as helping my team do. At the same time and at times more importantly keeping my team, department and myself out of trouble.

The amount of legal issues that are in and around the workplace are crazy, even more so with the addition of the internet, social media, smart phones and everything in between. There are a lot of rights that employees have that you would not expect, at the same time, many you'd assume they would have but do not, depending on the situation(s).

Once out of the class I was really happy that I took the time to sign up and attend. I once again learned quite a bit, though some portions are duplicate from those things Ive learned while taking my degree up and the university for both HR and Business Management. It's nice to hear how they actually fit into my company and it's policies.

More Rain

It's been raining all day once again off and on and as expected that it would. The weather guessers have done a decent job the past few weeks with their predictions. I think that the reason is that it's a consistent pattern and they can more easily follow it. Otherwise, trying to figure out what the weather patterns will or will not do day to day gets them in trouble. As interesting as that may be, I mean they are the weather guessers after-all.

Slam The Door

With that I am diving back into the day and now that I am writing this, I have been out of my class for a couple hours and will be getting a bunch of things done. I worked pretty much everyday that I was supposed to be off, although only for four hours or less most days. This was really four more than I wanted to, although to be able to get ahead of the curve before coming back in is never a bad thing to do. Plus I enjoy what I do and taking a few minutes to work on an email or a problem is pretty easy stuff, especially when I know that soon after I can go do what I want, if I want.

Photo: This is one of the four new pairs of summertime pajamas that I ordered for Zoey last week. They started showing up in the mail yesterday and they are awesome! Im really happy they are as high quality as anticipated.

Cicely really liked them as well. She has the set shown in the photo with the cool bicycle with lemon wheels, a cupcake top and bottoms set, ice cream cone set, a polka-dot set and a sleepy mouse set that has glitter on it.

She was in need of something cooler, so these being shorts for bottoms and short sleeved for tops should would out great! Love getting stuff like this for my Zoey, she is such an awesome little girl. I hope she stays that way for ever and ever - love you kiddo!
