Graduation Party

Today was the big graduation party for Cicely sister Danika. She was graduating from the University of Nevada Reno with her bachelors degree in criminal justice how cool is that!?

We went out to Cicely's parents house around 12:30 or 1 o'clock this afternoon and had some lunch and visited with everyone that had shown up for the party. We played some games like the corn hole game where you toss a beanbag onto a ramp on the other side, maybe 15 feet from you, trying to get it in the hole.

If your throw is hard enough and on target, allowing you to get the beanbag on the ramp, without bouncing, it's worth one point. If you get it in the hole whether sliding up the ramp, sliding up and hitting another in or slam dunk it straight through it's worth three points. We played every round with two people on each side taking turns and the first team to 21 wins. It's always a lot of fun and it was this time as well.

Cycling

Cycling may be out of the question for today because we got back from the party so late. It's already dark as I am writing this so my chances are not looking good because I still have to mow the entire backyard. Worst case I can do some miles on the trainer and that will suffice for today.

Simply mowing the lawn and doing the edging and that sort of thing burns a ton of calories as it is so it's not like I will be sitting around on my ass. Though I did want to put some miles on the bike and possibly have taken the mountain bike out to one of the trails that I've been meaning to write again. Unfortunately the trail always seems to be packed with joggers and people walking their dogs so I'm always hesitant to go there because it's 45 minutes away or so.

Sold Stuff

So we were able to sell some of Zoe's baby stuff today and it felt a little weird. We sold her electronic swing as well as one of her play yard playpens and her bassinet. We did not use the playpen at all and the bassinet was used very little.

In reality, out of all of those things, the MamaRoo swing with sound and MP3 is what we used the most and what Zoey enjoyed the most. So that was probably the most difficult thing to pack up and made us a little sad knowing it was going away. At least we know it will go to someone that can use it again and we have them a killer price on it all as well saving them over $350 if they had both it new as we had over $550 invested.

With That

With that I think I'm going to call it a post and go ahead and get back to those things that I need to be getting done. Tomorrow and Monday the weather is not looking very good either with a prediction for thunderstorms and rain once again.

That is pretty much all it has done the past week so I would not be surprised if the weather guessers were actually on track this week. On the bright side, if I am able to get up and out early enough I may be able to go for a ride before the weather starts. Their prediction does not have it starting until nearly 10 AM which means if I can get out a couple hours before then I should be fine. The only problem is that before a storm it's normally windy so that will suck ass big time. Time to just go with the flow and see what the weather brings and not worry about it right now.
