Extra Recovery Day

Finally this virus seemed to break yesterday evening around 7:00 PM or so. I was actually starting to get a little bit of an appetite and was still very thirsty to the point that I drank down two Vernor's ginger ale sodas, few gulps of Zoey's apple juice, glass of water as well as some Pedialyte. All of this in probably an hour to an hour and a half time.

Appetite

My appetite was not there in the manner that you would be used to. That being, feeling hungry and your stomach gurgling, in-turn wanting to eat solid food. Instead, it was more like my brain telling me that I better get something in my stomach before it starts to get worse in one manner or another.

It's a bit of a strange double edge sword when something like this happens though. If you have been puking as I was for over 24 hours and then your stomach want you to put some food into it, it makes a person a little bit apprehensive to do so. Especially after my initial bouts of puking were nothing more than french fries and hamburger. That was probably one of the worst things that I have ever puked up! Well, other than nachos!

Anyway to be on the safe side I went ahead and ate some food but mostly fruit cups and applesauce at Cicely and pick up for me at the store while I was trying to nap earlier in the day. They were very refreshing and hit the spot fairly well. They are gentle on your stomach too so that helps quite a bit.

Recovery Day

Even though I probably could have functioned at work today I decided that it would be in my best interest to stay home and take one extra day off. More so because I did not want to pass this onto anyone as I would not wish this on my worst enemy.

Sure I may be being a little bit dramatic because it was nothing more than puking and I guess some people get a lot of diarrhea from it as well. Thankfully I only had to puke of course I would have taken the diarrhea over the puking in the day.

So today I decided it would be best to stay home and relax and try to make sure it was completely out of my system before heading back into work. The last thing I want to do as mentioned it pass this on to someone else.

Cycling

I am on the fence today as to whether or not I will do some cycling. I would like to try and still accomplish my goal for the month of 1,225 km although that means I need to get 104 miles today and tomorrow to make it happen. We will see how it goes and if I try to still complete the challenge.

Otherwise, I am signing off for today and moving on to other things like resting, trying to eat some more food as well as contemplating the possibility of putting in those miles and completing the challenge.

If I do it will literally be down to the wire and the last minute of the last day to do so. Not my usually way of accomplishing things that's for sure. More on that tomorrow or the next day I'm sure. Being so close, I don't want to fail now.

Photo: Today's menu will consist of more of the fruit cups but I am going to try and add in one of these as well. Sure they are not the best food to invest after a stomach issue but they hit the spot and are easy to keep down. I just chase it with some Club crackers as well.
