Yesterday was the first day with my brand spanking new Apple Watch and it worked out really well. I did not notice it too much all day and even went for a bike ride on the trainer while wearing it and it did not bother me as much as I thought it might. I'm not sure if I will wear it while on the bike outside as I have enough batteries and crap to keep cheated and keep track of.
Battery First Impressions
The battery life does suck a little bit compared to what I hoped that it would be. By the end of the evening, probably around 8 o'clock or so, I only had 24% battery life left. All things considered this is not 'terrible', though considering the fact that I did not do anything with it other than wear it, lift my arm enough throughout the day to have it turn on momentarily and then back off.
It was also tracking my movements, heartbeat, amount of time standing and so on. The accuracy of this is increased if you have this one option turned on, which I did, it may reduce battery life as well from what I have read online so today I'm wearing it without that feature turned on as a test.
Final Thoughts, Day One
All said and done, getting 12 to 16 hours out of the watch was not bad, though concerning if I was traveling as I would need to keep yet another unique battery cable with me for charging purposes. This gets to be a pain at times, though par for the course with technology.
Photo: See this bumper sticker all the time on a car in the parking lot here at work. I always think to snap a photo of it for an entry as it's an oldie but a goodie.
