Back To Work

It's finally back to work for me today. After being off of work since Friday of last week and leaving that Thursday a little early because Cicely was not feeling very good because of the norovirus she was unlucky enough to catch.

The weekend was just not that great nor were the extra days away from the game studio. Usually any time away, relaxing is great, this time, not so much. Once Cicely was over her bug I started the vicious cycle of having it as well as you know if you've read any of my other entries over the past couple days.

We've been thankful that Zoey has steered clear of it, unfortunately as of last night she started to get a slight fever so we are not sure if it's because of new teeth or her starting to get the bug. I really hope it's just some teeth. While not fun, it's much better than the virus. I can't imagine someone her age throwing up even half as much as I was. It would be really scary for us as well.

Not that it's a 'bright-side' per-say, it is because babies tend to have more diarrhea from the virus than puking. This is helpful because there is more control for parents and little to no worry of her choking on her own vomit.

My Big Ass Cycling Goal

I'm nearly finished with my goal of 1,225 kilometers for 40 days and I will be happy when it's complete. I don't plan to put myself in this situation again at least not with so much pressure on myself. I was going to be finished this morning, instead I will do the last 25 miles after work tonight and call it a success. After days of feeling as though I was destined to fail the challenge, it's nice to know I should make it unless some crazy mishap comes my way this evening and I am unable to do my spin.

Anyway

It looks like I may have spoken too soon this morning because about 15 minutes before we were ready to leave so he ended up puking a lot all over the carpet in her room. I had hoped that because her temperature was going down and she had a bit of an appetite that she was feeling better and it was nothing more than teething.

We went to head and take her to school even though there is a good chance she may throw up at any time and then we will have to go get her and take her home for the day. Because this virus is going around there is a chance that they won't let her back for two days which kind of sucks.

It's all part of it though and we will see how it goes. Cicely wanted to stay home with her today but I think it's best to at least give it a chance make it through the day.

More on all of this later otherwise it's just another day in the life of parenthood that we are just now learning more and more about as the days turn to weeks, weeks to months and now months to years.

Photo: I was an irresponsible adult today and decided that I deserve to have a Pop-Tart for breakfast. Nothing like 400 calories of sugar to start a day. I figured I deserve it after days of no eating.
