Half Day From Home

Well today is day two of me staying home and splitting up the care duties with Cicely for Zoey. So far it seems that she does not have the same virus that we both had, instead I think she has more of a common cold. Simply based on the amount of stuff coming out of her nose and the fever, that would be my best guess.

The fever, again up to 104 today, goes up and then breaks, of course all dependant on how much she is crying or how long it has been since she last had something to eat or drink. Usually we are able to knock it back down in little to no time at all which is great. There is nothing like having a fever that high and I honestly cannot imagine how it must be for her to be dealing with it, not understanding why it is happening and so on.

So far today she has done little to nothing but sleep for the past four hours since I gave her a bowl of applesauce and she had a few puffs along with a couple sips of her bottle. Not enough to keep her going for as long as she needs or has been sleeping, but when she sleeps, the best thing to do is just not bother her and let her be. Her little body knows best and can work the bad stuff out of her system much faster while she is asleep.

Cubed

I was contacted by an old co-worker today that is applying for another job where he is in need of clearance again, a government job that-is. It was nice to hear from him and know that all is well and that he is still pushing hard to get top jobs. I, as I always would with a good co-worker or employee, offered up anything that I could do to help him out. More than likely this means that I will be contacted again soon by the government agency to validate his prior employment or whatever they may need from me - no problem.

I also took the time today to send one of the 'Edible Arrangements' to a member of my team. It's actually for his fiance who was unfortunate enough to hit her head, get a concussion and pass out the other night doing her rotations at the hospital she is at. She is in medical school and probably pushing really hard to be the best that she can. My fear is that she pushed so hard on her last big tests that came up, her body had enough and just shut down.

No matter, I wanted her and my team member to know that we were thinking about them both and send them something nice to have in their house for a couple days to enjoy. I hope that it brings them a smile and they enjoy it, more importantly that she is back to her old self sooner than later!

Otherwise

For me, its now heading out and back to the office to do my afternoon of work now that Cicely is on her way back home and should be pulling up any minute now. I have to get my ass down there so I can attend a few much needed meetings this afternoon and get a few other things taken care of.

The weekend is supposed to be full of shxtty weather which probably equates to little to no cycling for me other than on the trainer. Not a huge deal since I can still ride, its just never quite as much fun doing so on a trainer as you can imagine. Then Saturday we have the big event starting very early for Cicely's sister Danika graduating from college - exciting stuff, should be a fun, but long day.

Photo: This is the arrangement that I purchased for my team members fiance. I sure hope they like it and more-so that it does not offend them being in a martini glass! If so, they can dump the fruit into a bowl, toss the glass and enjoy the Mylar balloon while chomping on fruit! I thought that it was really cool and I hope they enjoy it and get well soon!
