On the flip-side I was able to install one of the three new saddles that I had purchased last week and set it up perfectly. I needed Cicely's help so that I could make sure that my knees were in the right position with the pedals and crank arm and things like that. Based on the quality of my ride I think I have everything set-up really good.
Unfortunately I did something when I went mountain bike riding last weekend that ultimately tweaked my back a little bit. It's more like a pinch than anything else, so it's more annoying. It also makes my lower back feel much more tired when the pinch gives me a little bit of a 'donkey kick' now and again as I ride along on my route.
I have a feeling that I will be a little bit sore tomorrow because of it which is not a good thing because I need to get another good day of cycling in. Today I was able to do just over 45 miles which is not bad. I was shooting for something around 50 to 80 miles. I can to come back to reality once I was out there and realize that was out of the question for today.
Well unless I wanted to push too hard, over do it and then be off the bike for a few days. Plus, because of the wind and the fact that I have been cycling so much this month my legs bonk much quicker than they usually would.

All-in-all it was a really good ride though and I ventured out to some new places so that made it really interesting and a lot of fun. I will have to do that same route again sometime because it was a good, well-rounded adventure.
Everything from climbing, downhills providing a nice little recovery decent flats mixed-in. It would have been twice as much fun had the wind not been blowing. That was entirely my fault though, I left too late this morning.

Dinner
Anyway that is about it for today I just wanted to do a quick entry and rabble about the good spin that I had. Cicely is on her way home after being out today working on her crafts at this collaborative place she goes to with her friend and designer, Cat.
Because I was out cycling and Cicely was out doing her thing Zoey was able to go over to grandma and grandpa Mendoza's house for a little while. I bet she had a great time over there!
Because their house is on the side of town that Steak 'n Shake is, she is stopping there on the way home to get us some dinner, Yum! There is nothing like the reward of a nice hamburger and fries for dinner after a long day of cycling. Then I am having her give me a nice size strawberry banana milkshake to go along with it as the remainder of my reward.
From there I have some other things that I want to do today although if the nap bug starts to kick in I will have to lay down and close my eyes for a little while, can you blame me? It's Saturday after-all.
Photo: Rather than just a plain old photo of the local Steak 'n Shake or a photo of my food, which is not possible because I scarfed it down like a madman! I went ahead and decided to use an old photo of the restaurant. Not sure how close to 1934 it is, as that is when they opened, still a cool photo.
